Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 26, 2015 9:31 am Hi
Have a bit of a dilemma and hoping someone can give me their opinion. We are about to build a home and are stuck in where to put our alfresco area. We have two options, both being at the back of the house under the roofline. 1. Option one is to have at the rear North corner of the house, however this side of the house will be close to the side boundary at approx 2-3 m from the fence and will have a two storey house on the other side of the fence, another 2 m away possibly having an impact on sunlight. 2. Option two is to have the alfresco on the western corner. This corner of the house will be more than double the distance from the fence at 5.68m from the side boundary and only a single storey house on the other side which would have no impact to sunlight. Here's a rough pic. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Any help much appreciated. Re: Alfresco orientation vs open space dilemma - please help 3Feb 26, 2015 9:58 am I would go with the alfresco on the side with the larger area between the alfreasco and the fence, just so that there is more usable space. I also notice that the garage is on the west side so you might have additional space after the garage wall to use as well.
