Drew this concept this morning. Not certain I'll follow all of it but it's a start. The outdoor kitchen area won't have any fancies such as stove or fridges etc. I won't even run gas. I like to cook on dried timber so I've ordered a woodfired oven. The footings will be poured their week with brickwork starting on Saturday. I've had to make some adjustments to the plan as I had forgotten the location of the sewerage access point. These will the the last footing in our house. I'll miss all that digging....NOT. The vertical faces are going to be left showing the timber imprints. I'll then apply a matt sealer. Re: OB Project - 517May 24, 2017 7:00 pm Cool concrete work. How much is something like the garden bed costing you? Re: OB Project - "New vs Old" - Nedlands, WA 518May 24, 2017 7:26 pm SileNceR Cool concrete work. How much is something like the garden bed costing you? The cost of the garden bed is made up of footings, brickwork and minor plastering, Formwork, concrete pour and finally polishing. It's a bit difficult to calculate the true cost but the cost of concrete including labour was about $1000 for all three garden beds. The most expensive part is the Formwork. Mine was out of mainly left over timber and I did most of it but I would expect the Formwork to normally cost 2-3 thousand. I'll also be doing the polishing with a polisher I purchased from eBay for 300. It has served me well. Re: OB Project - "New vs Old" - Nedlands, WA 520May 25, 2017 10:58 pm Looks so lovely!
