Must be such a relief Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9549Aug 26, 2017 6:31 am Yeah it is great to be here slightly disappointed in what is wrong though - all cosmetic stuff but still Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9550Aug 26, 2017 7:20 am dougang287 Yeah it is great to be here slightly disappointed in what is wrong though - all cosmetic stuff but still How exciting that you have keys. We are only 3-4 weeks behind you It is a shame that there is stuff that still isn't up to scratch though. We have been lucky with our build. The only thing I have noticed is a couple of chipped bricks and a tiny chip in one of the kitchen cupboards that you have to look really hard to see. Can't wait to see your pics with furniture in Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9551Aug 26, 2017 7:24 am Tamara1975 dougang287 Yeah it is great to be here slightly disappointed in what is wrong though - all cosmetic stuff but still How exciting that you have keys. There is a lot of touch ups for the painter and the bottom of kitchen cabinets is covered in overspray - would have appreciated a bit more care and respect to be honest and it does make you a little disappointed but overall good Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9552Aug 26, 2017 7:30 am dougang287 Tamara1975 dougang287 Yeah it is great to be here slightly disappointed in what is wrong though - all cosmetic stuff but still How exciting that you have keys. Our house is still so filthy I haven't been able to have a good look. Will have to see after the clean. Our rental has paint all over the windows and they always look dirty. Must have had the same painters as you lol. Quick question for all who have handed over did you have to remove your own silt fence after hand over https://www.homeone.com.au/member/bribiebell Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9555Aug 26, 2017 10:10 am bribiebell Been MIA limited internet! Quick question for all who have handed over did you have to remove your own silt fence after hand over https://www.homeone.com.au/member/bribiebell Yes we did, it was a mess with weeds and grass growing through it! We had so much stuff left behind to clean up! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9556Aug 27, 2017 12:28 pm Still no resolution from Coral about this whole flooring issue... Apparently our CSO's assistant went ahead and emailed to Coral Head Office to remove our floors... We never signed anything agreeing to do so, nor did we ever want our floors removed... Now they are going back and forth with us trying to figure out where it went wrong... This is so frustrating, someone has made a mistake and now we are being towed around for answers for something we didn't agree for.. and to top it off they removed the flooring but our house price remained the same so things don't add up at all.. No way I'm paying $3000 for floors now when they were in our Sales quote that I agreed to. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9557Aug 27, 2017 5:21 pm klea I'm sure everybody does this but I want to stress that when it comes time for your final progress payment to check the final account summary that Coral sends to you. I ran through my variations again (which were all correct) and noticed that Coral had missed a $2000 credit!! I had a $2k allowance in my contract for colour room upgrades and another $2k for Clipsal upgrades. After each of those appointments they charged me the full amount of the upgrades but had only credited the colour room allowance back. I queried it today and a new Variation popped into my inbox for $2000 credited back for clipsal allowance... can't believe I was about to pay twice for that!! Hi Klea. Where in your contract does it state what allowance you have for each area? (Like tiles, fixtures, elec etc?) First Home Buyer Building our first home in 2017 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9558Aug 28, 2017 7:26 pm Well I had the day off today to unpack - builders clean much better than I thought but we have tradies coming back all week to tidy and fix things so didn't bother doing too much cleaning - painters supposed to come back and clean paint off tiles, windows and cabinets and repaint walls and ceilings. QA picked up a few things to do. There's a big ring In our shower floor which is paint from the tin Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9559Aug 28, 2017 7:32 pm Caydenn Still no resolution from Coral about this whole flooring issue... Sorry to hear your having dramas Admin is a nightmare we've been in it since Feb start date was back in May & no new start date as yet. Delays due to errors have not been ours just lucky we look at everything with a fine tooth comb (yet still worried we've missed an error) fingers crossed it gets sorted quickly for you guys You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14121 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13781 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4356 |
