As per Coral's fantastic communication skills, we have not heard a word. We are not even up to lock-up after 217 days (7 months). They have not contacted us regarding claiming any rain/delay days. Do we have to email them regarding our intention to claim Liquidated damages? Far out thats crazy!!!!! We didnt email them they just worked it out themselves.. Although i did ask about it after pci was signed off and we had our cheque really quickly! If you do get any communication regarding rain day claims i would however reply back saying that you refuse as it was not claimed within the 14 day period or whatever it is. _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8988Jul 03, 2017 10:08 am dougang287 Acid wash must work miracles Sorry to hear about the issues with your bricks. If they say no,then go for rebate for the brick work. If they say no, then ask them which supplier offers patchwork bricks and will Coral Homes be promoting this new technique on their next display home they build? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8995Jul 03, 2017 4:05 pm kandd @tamara1975 Do you know how much extra for the brick bond ?? Ours was around $750. We are also wanting smaller grout lines so we have been told to speak directly with the tiler about this. Do we have to email them regarding our intention to claim Liquidated damages? Absolutely sucks. Typical of Coral of sorry to say for anyone browsing the thread who is thinking of building with coral. The communication is disgusting. We even told our ss that we could deal with most things if we were just informed. I was given the response that if there was nothing happening or he news wasn't good, that there was no point updating me and that I should just let them manage it! Yeah right! You don't have to email them re damages. When PCI is completed they just calculate it and you can choose to have the damages reduce your final payment (better option) or get a separate cheque. It took our cheque months to come so would recommend just having it deducted from the last payment if the bank will still release the full funds (we funded last payment so didn't matter). Regarding rain delays or any other delays caused by you, your neighbours or otherwise- u less they notify you within ten days of it happening they can't claim it at the end at it won't reduce the damages they owe you C U S T O M. Do I have to wait another 3 weeks? Do they charge you to fix their mistake? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8998Jul 03, 2017 5:16 pm They won't render, its nearly 100% they won't its either the entire wall comes down or they will grind out the bricks and replace it. Unless of course you want render then that's a variation to do entire house, bottom line though it looks chop sui and needs to be fix they'll fix it

Do I have to wait another 3 weeks? Do they charge you to fix their mistake? No will not charge to fix their mistakes but they may try so just put it back on them and yes it very well may take another 3 weeks. I know when we got them to amend their own error it took us another 3 weeks to get the correct site plan back. https://www.homeone.com.au/member/bribiebell Re: Coral Homes general build thread 9000Jul 03, 2017 6:00 pm bribiebell StephLee After waiting 3 weeks we just got our variations back that we did at contract signing to fix errors.. however there are still structural errors - does anyone know what happens now? You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14124 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13781 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish.
