Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Would you go light or darker floors 5Nov 16, 2014 1:03 am I like them both but it might depend on what furniture you are putting on them. The first one looks a bit more versatile but the second would be lovely with the right tones. Re: Would you go light or darker floors 6Nov 16, 2014 1:03 am I second Melsie... the cream is too pale for my liking. Re: Would you go light or darker floors 7Nov 16, 2014 11:06 am I like the grain of the cream but the colour of the lower one. The grain of the lower could become very busy. So I vote lower pic 4 th from the right. But officially i vote cream. Re: Would you go light or darker floors 8Nov 16, 2014 7:33 pm Hi JP - we are getting Option 1 - Artesan Cream. It will be installed next week so I will be sure to post photos for you. I agree it depends on your furniture and overall look. Our walls are all white and going for a coastal/vintage look so it all works - or so I think I'm crossing my fingers! --- Re: Would you go light or darker floors 9Nov 16, 2014 7:46 pm MyH1Login Hi JP - we are getting Option 1 - Artesan Cream. It will be installed next week so I will be sure to post photos for you. I agree it depends on your furniture and overall look. Our walls are all white and going for a coastal/vintage look so it all works - or so I think I'm crossing my fingers! Thanks MyH1Login, I would LOVE to see photos when your floors are in. My preference is for the cream but DH is wanting the darker choice. If we can see them both in their 'natural' environment, so to speak, that would be a great help. Thanks! Re: Would you go light or darker floors 10Nov 16, 2014 8:31 pm Would you go light or darker floors 11Nov 19, 2014 10:01 pm JP79 Artesan 'Cream' Cheers! Hi JP As promised here is the Unique Timber Flooring Artesan Collection Cream that was just laid at ours this week. Unfortunately they're not great images as I couldn't get in, but these will have to do. I really thought they were going to come out whiter than they look since the sample was just so light in comparison to the rest. However it's turned out so well! The colour just matches our theme and the look we're going for to a tee. Whatever floor you choose, it does set the tone for the whole house so it needs to flow all throughout in terms of theme, furniture choices etc. I will take more photos during our PCI if you can wait til next Friday ️ http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/mryrse/onlot234/08EAC359-7B0F-413C-A1A4-8117F998277D_1.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/mryrse/onlot234/BACE5EBC-B401-4360-B24E-8CE56841EB63_1.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/mryrse/onlot234/C7ECFDDA-FCAA-4D4D-B382-96EB5A0A3760.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/mryrse/onlot234/61D8F185-56F5-4308-984C-EF3B18F0173A.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/mryrse/onlot234/29A7D92E-3436-42DE-B1F7-20769BA2BA70.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/mryrse/onlot234/263F2C54-E1A2-4E98-A4CD-2FBD6AD8C040.jpg Last two photos aren't primarily about the flooring however you do get to see it in different lights. Good luck with your decision JP! Looking forward to hearing about which one you ultimately choose in the end --- Re: Would you go light or darker floors 12Nov 20, 2014 4:31 pm i like the cream, i think it gives you more options of furniture/paint colours as light with light works and light with dark but dark with dark doesnt. Re: Would you go light or darker floors 14Nov 21, 2014 1:42 pm Here are additional flooring pictures of the Cream - I agree re matching with furniture - we have a dark couch which goes well with the light flooring. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/mryrse/onlot234/9A0E14A1-EFFE-4638-BFE1-DE4D6D4AD1B7.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/mryrse/onlot234/56583397-C2DF-4CB4-A41B-4A844F6E3B10.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/mryrse/onlot234/6E114B0B-CB22-40C8-8DF6-16E7F77995E9.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/mryrse/onlot234/B72D66B2-F9FC-480C-8358-53A8FBCB886B.jpg --- Re: Would you go light or darker floors 15Nov 21, 2014 3:23 pm I personally prefer the cream, those pictures look amazing! The Colour scheme in that house is lovely ️ glad a decision has been made! --- Re: Would you go light or darker floors 19Nov 24, 2014 6:01 pm that floor looks great. u have made a good decision.
