We have shortlisted the following options: 1. Wood Look Tile: Cost of Tile + $70/sqm (laying charges) + $15/sqm (for wood like laying) + $15/sqm (for grout color) - $25/sqm (luxury inclusion tile charges) The cheapest wood look tile is for $45/sqm So the total charges comes to $120/sqm i.e. it will cost us $9960. 2. Porcelain Tile: Cost of Tile + $39/sqm (laying charges) - $25/sqm (luxury inclusion tile charges) The available sizes are 600x600 or 600x300 If we go for a roughly $58/sqm porcelain tile, it will cost us $5976. 3. Denim Matt Tile: This is from Wisdom inclusive range and would not cost us an extra penny. The available size is 450x450. 4. Oak leaf Laminate: This is an inclusion under Wisdom Wise Choice package available to us. We have a PA of $6000 for Tiles, but we are confused whether to use it for full tiling of washrooms or for tile upgrade? Also whether going with inclusive tiles is better than choosing Oak Leaf laminate or vice versa? Kindly advise. TIA Double check... Inclusive Laminate might only be for upstairs as another option to carpet Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ As per the wisechoice it says choice between ceramic tiles or timber look flooring to these areas BuildingWashington 32 with W https://buildyourfirsthome.wordpress.com/ Contract: 26/11/2017 DA: 28/03/2018 Admin : 26/04/2018 Const: 11/05/2018 Slab: 16/05/2018 Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 8532Dec 04, 2017 11:15 am ozmonkeyoy that vertical garden looks awesome and cost effective. Something we will consider as we were thinking of view from the kitchen window. Thanks for sharing. Bunning (or may be some fancy sellers too) have those deco panels which can be used horizontal to enhance the view. hedges are also an option but they are hard to maintain n take time to grow! I can see that Di L have added new tiles to their range. We are going for timber look and happy to pay extra. ours is costing 9K with 100sqm. You are allowed to get two quote So get quotes with pricey tile & one within range. Also full bathroom & std. That way you know the prices when its time to make decision. For us lounge was more important than bathrooms. Also it is easy to change bathroom tiles than flooring.Hence we went with best flooring that our budget can buy. I found the laminate range very limited and over priced in Di L however there are pics of laminate in the thread and they look amazing. Inclusive Laminate might only be for upstairs as another option to carpet It’s not. The inclusive laminate is for the main flooring. We went the inclusive laminate as it’s a $70 flooring so by far the best bang for buck. You do have to pay for a skirting refit though if you don’t want scotia around your skirting. And you will still have the scotia in kitchen. Also, it’s no longer included for those on live boldly promo I believe just if anyone else is wondering. Tiles you can get wet, laminate you can’t, that’s the only con in my opinion. Laminate is really hard wearing, in our current house we have cracks in ceramic tiles but no scratches on the laminate. I much prefer the look of floorboards. I figured because the laminate is included we could replace it in a few years if we wanted to and still not pay the price we’d pay Di Lorenzo for upgrading the flooring in the first place! What sort of timber look tiles are you getting? The pic that kvav27 posted above for $45sqm was what we were thinking of going with. Is there other types and do you have pics? We have been to DL about 3 times and unfortunately each time, we were not able to ask anyone any questions as they seem all so busy and preoccupied and i imagined they are with people who actually are on their tile appointments, so did not really want to disturb... kvav27 we also went to DL on Saturday and that place is always so busy, so hard to flag someone down, isn't it!? We added a PA for full height tiling to all bathrooms. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 8537Dec 04, 2017 1:16 pm Jordann MandM+4 Jordann Hey All Just wondering what's everyone's thought on the 2 walls tiles not lining up in our bathrooms, as it's bugging me a little. They are both 300x600 so should line up fine if they are laid the same? Not sure why they decided to not line them up? Maybe there was a slight variance in the tile sizes so they didn’t match them up as to match them up and then they start differing further up/down would look awful. I’d certainly ask why they have been done like that, I’m sure there’s a reason, but DL do make us sign paperwork saying the grout lines may not match up so I don’t think it’s something we can make them redo. Would also most probably delay your build if they did. Thank you everyone for your comments, guess I'm not the only one thinking its weird. The wife also seems to think it will look fine once the grout is in, I'll reserved judgement till them. She also remember the consultant at DL saying something about the tiles wont match up for some reason and apparently we agreed to it. I have no recollection of that conversation haha. Maybe I'll give DL a call tomorrow and ask. Is it because you've got a mixture of porcelain and ceramic tiles? The grout width will obviously be different in that case. I don't remember signing anything about mismatched grout lines at DL.... got me thinking now. This looks like a case of no coordination between 2 tiler doing the 2 walls. or the tiler sadly not thinking it through. We are lodging to DA tomorrow . Fingers crossed. Amidst all this we also have a sewer peg out over quote similar to doosra . They have quoted us 6k for 20 piers that run deeper than the standard 2.5m which is quite over the estimate of 2-3k which was budgeted for in our PA and also according to the calculations should fall within the same range. Trying to get it sorted via CSR but its taking time . Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE. Because I'm completely and utterly exhausted.
