After evaluating costs of carpet upgrade , we decided to go with Oak leaf timber laminate for the upper floor . Now the Di-Lorenzo lady told us that Wisdom does not allow laminate to be put on the stairs cause of slippage which was strange to me as timber is equally slippery . Have any of you gone with laminate flooring for your stairs or upper flloor. ?
Thanks
This is engineered timber right? How thick was it? The price seems surprisingly decent
Yes engineered timber (clever choice - elegant oak range) and it is 9mm plus 3mm underlay. Remember WH gives a credit for carpets.
Ahh I see. I've seen outside 24mm engineered is about $60sqm but this is 9mm so fair big difference
I would jump on that!!
I've decided to go laminate instead. Laminate quality are pretty good these days and hard wearing and trying to save some but I'm getting laminate post handover. DL charge about $75sqm for the laminate I want including labour but I'm gonna buy for $40sqm and install myself
For stairs, even these can be replaced at a later stage if you want to do glass or upgrade etc
