So glad to hear you're on your way. I can't wait to see it all come to life now for you Building Wisdom Aspiration 31 at Willowdale https://ourwillowdalehome.wordpress.com/ What's happening with you JM, Land registered yet? Developer approval? The delays just keep stacking up for us. Our land has been with LPI for over a month now after getting stuck with council for over 2 months to approve the subdivision. It's switched to creating folios this week so hoping for settlement in the first few days of Sept. We were meant to register and settle in June. We already have developer approval but we just discovered last week we don't meet CDC requirements anymore since changes to the code in July so we're waiting for Wisdom's compliance team to review our plans to confirm we have to through council DA instead. We're basically just hoping to get into construction before Christmas now 🤦♀️ Building Wisdom Aspiration 31 at Willowdale https://ourwillowdalehome.wordpress.com/ Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 6986Aug 16, 2017 6:33 pm The delays just keep stacking up for us. Land registration seems to be pretty much always delayed in my experience- ours was meant to register in November, then January, then eventually did in march. Worked out ok for us though since W weren't ready anyway. good you have developer approval but disappointing you may have to go through council! Maybe W's compliance team will find a way around it. Will keep my fingers crossed for a quick approval for you. We are still in the pre contract stages and our land registration is settling tomorrow. Our dates so far have been
We are eagerly awaiting our first batch of plans. It would be helpful if someone who built recently share their timelines. Esp Plans,Selections Contract till the slab as to how long does it approximately take.? I am new to this forum and have read a few threads so far. I am also planning to blog and share links as we progress. Its our first home and I have mixed feelings of excitement and anxiety. Cheers spk We are building majestic35, good to see another one. How long has it taken everyone to get from this stage to slab? I know there's a bit of a variance but just to get an idea. Thanks Building Monte Carlo 40- Wisdom homes Grats M&M on production estimating, not long to go now. To give you an idea, we received the portaloo and fence on the 9th of June. Slab was done on the 7th or 8th of July. We have our PCI booked on the 1st September and will get our keys on the 15th September (or that is the plan!). Our bamboo floors went in yesterday and we will have carpet in next week. It is so surreal to be finally getting to the end of the process! It is definitely worth the wait. I would do it all over again! Our build with Wisdom has been relatively stress free, we have had a few hiccups along the way but nothing too bad. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 6991Aug 16, 2017 8:49 pm msjovi It's looking amazing Oz!! Re smoking on site, our tradies did the same. But what annoyed me more than that was they'd dump food and rubbish everywhere.. chicken bones, tuna cans, you name it! It was disgusting! Our SS had it cleaned up but not until we complained about it. But once the flooring goes down and the house gets cleaned they're pretty careful. Building Ambassador 41 - Wisdom Homes Yeah, the food and drinks and lack of respect from the tradies is something that is hard to overlook, but I understand that it happens on all building sites. Good to hear in the final stages that they are better. Your getting mighty close now....end of an adventure, and some celebrating to do!!! Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 6992Aug 16, 2017 8:52 pm amf139 26months in and we finally have our Draft End Panel... all 28 pages of it. Now for some light reading..... Finally..congrats!!! Lets hope that got the draft end panel correct. (Ours had to be changed, but they did it pretty quickly) Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 6993Aug 16, 2017 8:54 pm Jenifermarie MandM+4 What's happening with you JM, Land registered yet? Our land was meant to register in March 2015, but did not until December 2015 - its always a big unknown (and expected delays) with unregistered land. Hope to hear some positive news soon... Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 6995Aug 16, 2017 9:08 pm Thanks M+M and Ozmonkeyoy. I know the land delays aren't that long in comparison to most and I keep reminding myself of that. We have a lot going on in life right now so we don't have much time to stress about the house which is probably a good thing. We're just hoping Wisdom aren't going to bump us up on the base price because there is no way we are going to make our mid Nov contract date. I'm looking forward to when we have some positive news to report here. With nothing happening I'm just quietly watching on as there isn't much for us to do. It's great watching so many homes getting near to completion now Building Wisdom Aspiration 31 at Willowdale https://ourwillowdalehome.wordpress.com/ Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 6996Aug 16, 2017 10:19 pm spk_homebuild MandM+4 SPK- once contract is signed you will book your appointments, it will take about 2 weeks after your appointments to get your landscape plan back which is required to lodge for developer approval. While waiting for developer approval they should prepare for council/CDC. If going through council add another couple of months on... And then best case scenario another 6 weeks from council approval to production estimating. Once in production estimating it takes about a month I'm told on average to get the slab down. In my experience every step of the process takes longer than anticipated! Building Monte Carlo 40- Wisdom homes Thanks M for the detailed inputs. Really helpful !! As you stated it may take 6 months for our admin to progress also December is a lean month so am almost considering that as an off. So Jan for us would be a bit optimistic. Will definitely keep sharing our experience and also love to see your progress and that of others here. Wish you the very best cheers SPK spk_homebuild, Welcome to the forum and good to know another Majestic 35 being built. I am excited for you! We shouldn't be too far behind, fingers crossed! Fingers crossed! What stage are you up to now? We got CDC approval this week. I'm very happy to finally be near the finish line with admin Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 6998Aug 16, 2017 11:49 pm ozmonkeyoy Garage door on today. Pleased to see that it matches up well to our stained entry/balcony doors. The garage door also goes well with the the rest of your facade. What colour did you select for your garage door? Timber Coat Cedar? Merbau? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 6999Aug 17, 2017 8:02 am Hi MandM+4, I can't recall them saying anything about expansion joints..........the colour of the walls is Taubmans Windy Beach. It is very light grey, in some lights you can't even tell that the walls are grey unless you look at it compared to the white of the ceiling. In sunlight the colour is much more noticeable. Hi gfernz, you are right, this is the Ambassador 41. I will definitely post up more picks next time we go to the house - they are putting the carpet in next week! Hi msjovi - love looking at pics of your Ambassador too! I must say that I am very jealous of your beautiful staircase, it is something we would like to do down the track. Our slab was poured mid December so we have had a pretty good run, although it feels like the last 6 weeks are dragging on! Ozmonkey your facade is gorgeous! You must be so pleased with how it has turned out. Fingers crossed for a speedy handover! Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 7000Aug 17, 2017 10:39 am Jenifermarie Thanks M+M and Ozmonkeyoy.
