Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 5524Apr 29, 2017 9:49 am Kirst10 Hi all, for those still in admin - highly recommend upgrading to soundscreen insulation and solid core doors. We've been in our house 3 wks and just finding the echo thru house a little annoying! Hubby and I work different hours (I'm up in the morning early and he's home and about 11pm) and just should have bit the bullet on those things. We soundscreened the theatre only, for $400ish. Should have done the whole house. We the serenity 31 single story and can hear all that's happening in the kitchen, from our bedroom. Something to consider if you live with shift workers and like silence lol. Seems all the tiles we all have in our homes now makes a good tunnel for sound!!! I guess with the doors, you can always change those but recommend the sound screen if your budget allows it Just a thought Kirst10, could you put double doors in your hallway somewhere? We put a wide cavity slider in ours, to help keep the heat from our fire in our main living areas mostly, but also to buffer the noise a bit. Hopefully it will make a difference. Just wondering about costs. My husband is keen to add it. Building Wisdom Aspiration 31 at Willowdale https://ourwillowdalehome.wordpress.com/ Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 5527Apr 29, 2017 5:28 pm Looking at your dark bathroom cabinetry I'm really hoping ours does not end up looking too light! We chose a grey floor tile, and white wall tiles with grey veins (floor to ceiling) and white shark edge cabinetry with Oyster 40mm stone. Oh well.. too late to change now! I can always add in some colour with decor items! If you're looking for wall prints I've come across this great website: http://www.wallartprints.com.au A huge variety of gorgeous canvas prints. I've already chosen ours for the dining room: http://www.wallartprints.com.au/art-sty ... int-et0002 Not much progress on our site this week except for a site clean and our corner stacker doors have been installed. They look great! I'll take a pic when we go by over the weekend. [/quote] This is really good msjovi. Thanks for sharing Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 5528Apr 29, 2017 5:39 pm Looks great! Funny how i always feel like i'm looking at ours but we don't have any rendering in front. Our scaffolding has been down for about a month now and i know how you felt as the portico has been done for anlong time but kept the scaffolds. Pass by the house this afternoon and all the tiles delivered were all gone. Hopefully it's all laid out. Might go back tomorrow when no one's there to check. Kinda wishing we'd gone for a picture window overlooking our backyard now Have you got your downlights on the daylight setting? Or cool white? I'm pretty sure they are daylight. Yeah stairs are in, but not stained yet Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ They will be stained in black Japan and just carpet on top. The big windows are prob one of my favourite upgrades we did to tell you the truth! They were only about 2k from memory and make such a difference to the room! Building Majestic 40 - wisdom homes mrsllamas2016 your staircase looks amazing. How much does that cost and did you have to add extra for the door under the stairs? Otherwise I think it's just straight Gyprock down that wall. The stairs were 3850 plus the cost to stain them, but I've heard these stairs cost about 8k - 10k now?! I don't know if that's right but I'm sure someone got quoted substantially more than we paid (our tender was done in early 2015...) Thanks Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 5533Apr 30, 2017 10:30 am Have anyone thought about windows security film? These 3M film is pretty good. It doesn't stop them breaking the glass but kind of delay them from trying to get in, maybe long enough for them to quit. Wonder how much these cost? Also got invoice same day ...hahaha Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 5538Apr 30, 2017 4:10 pm I called into the new Wisdom display home @ Calderwood Valley today and was really impressed at the Hampton's styled Inspiration 32 that they have just opened. Anyone looking to build this style it's a must see. I would assume that the inclusions displayed would cost $$$ but it looks great. It's not the style that we personally went for but I can see why people love it. Everything else we are pretty happy with, they are just a bit brighter than we expected Haha Building Majestic 40 - wisdom homes Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 5540Apr 30, 2017 4:31 pm Our roof was finished yesterday -Colourbond Wallaby Grey.
