Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 1452Dec 15, 2015 10:29 pm Thanks for your replies on my concerns on wisdom's progress pay structure. I see carix has similar issues too. I would try switching brokers or may be approach banks directly. Broker I met advised banks have tightened lending policies only few months backs, I guess people who commented above with no issues might have applied before banks brought about changes in lending criteria Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 1453Dec 21, 2015 12:24 pm Hi all, for those who have built the majestic has anyone moved the master bedroom from the front to the rear of the house? The reason is, the room is facing west and we want it facing north/east. I've asked if they can dig around and see what they can find. Thought I'd ask on here as well Building Majestic 40 at Bingara Gorge Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 1456Dec 22, 2015 1:58 pm Hi all Question 4 those who have built with wisdom On the ground floor. With tiling did they remote the skirting boards to allow the tiles flush with the walls. Or tiled against the skirting boards. We have upgraded to porcelain tiles so will be taller against the skirting boards. We were told only timber floors we under the skirtng boards to allow expansion Thanks Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 1457Dec 22, 2015 2:05 pm ugly99 Hi all Question 4 those who have built with wisdom On the ground floor. They may do the tiling before or during the carpentry fix out, but would depend on their schedule. We had tilers and painters doing half a job before the fix out carpenters had finished fitting off. Don't expect the grout joints to line up between rooms, if you have chosen the same size tile either. They don't care, no effort is put into the work. It'll be subcontracted out to the cheapest trades/labour they can find. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 1458Dec 28, 2015 4:10 pm Hi all, Hope everyone had a great Christmas! We will be having our colours appointment in the next month (already had kitchen and flooring appts). I was having a look at the oven provided in our package and it looks as though it is actually discontinued. We were really wanting to get an induction oven instead as well. My question is, has anyone taken out the standard appliances and selected their own brands? How does this work and do you get much in the way of credit back for the oven etc. Thanks! Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 1459Jan 07, 2016 12:13 pm Hi all, We're just about to finalise our tender with Wisdom and have decided to switch facades at the 11th hour. Has anyone got any photos of "real" Avanti facades they'd be willing to share? It's hard to get a good feel for it in the illustration. TIA! Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE.
