was just thinking, so many project homes must have this same problem!
It's endemic. There are many, many more common issues that get through.
BTW, I also noticed in your most recent photos that they were yet to fit temporary downpipes.

Been following your thread for a while. Your house is coming up fast! It's great. We were about to get our slab this week but now it's raining! Of all the weeks! Ahh well. Hope it doesn't hold things up too much for any of us up here. Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 545Aug 23, 2015 9:13 pm Hi Wadedewile! Thanks for following it's really lovely to hear from people who have been silently following! Do you have your own thread? Signatures don't show up on tapatalk so I'm sorry if it says it there. What mcdonald home are you building? We loved the Beach House that's on show out near the airport. We still sometimes wonder if we should've built that one as we loved it just as much. Our build: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=70584 Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 546Aug 23, 2015 9:43 pm Haha I'm sure there are many silent ones out there! Nah don't have a thread bit too busy with work to keep up with it all. I've posted in the General MJH thread today tho. We are building the Bordeaux Urban with very little changes. It's on display at Wallis Creek just the opposite design with home theatre and bedroom around other way. Beach house on display near airport? Where's that at? The only one I know is the seaside retreat and Monte Carlo unless they closed the beach house one. Hope your house keeps moving too seems fast. There is one being built 2 doors down from my block and it's not in lock up yet and it's been going for at least 4 months so not sure what that's about. Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 547Aug 23, 2015 11:10 pm The seaside retreat is a new one since we were out at those display homes. Very similar to the beach house with the living spaces at the back. The photos of that display are lovely, I prefer it and the plan over the beach house! The Beach House must've been sold as it's not showing up on their website now. Makes sense to keep refreshing their displays. I went out to Chisholm the other day and some of the displays' interiors there are no longer in 'vogue'. Ooh I like your plan. By bedroom and theatre swap do you mean the theatre is now at the back just in front of the master bedroom like the 'executive' version? Our build: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=70584 Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 548Aug 24, 2015 5:57 am Wow heaps of progress! The bricks will be fine as the brickies pick and choose. although we have a chipped brick in the front that I notice but no over else does and I'm not sure I can be bothered raising with the SS. I think it happened at the late stage of the build. Your roof looks great! Love the corridor out to the back! And the spaces. The towel rail spots looks good... Wish we thought of that. Not sure on the power next to shower. We just had rain so at least our tank is full. We are planning to get another one at some point but yeah assume most rushes into the absorption trench Re sewing room... I need to hook up my sewing machine and have no table! (We have no table height anything in the house! All bench height) do you think bench height sewing works? I can have a standing sewing station? . I'm not ofay with sewing although I have my mum's old machine (and she never used it!) Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 549Aug 24, 2015 5:58 am Ooh just rescrolled. And love your living area! So light and bright! Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 550Aug 24, 2015 6:47 am Wow progresa looking good. I really like your bricks, it will surely blend nicely with your roof. I like bark bricks, ours would be vino. Hopefully brickies won't used the chipped ones and if there's a chance to speak to them before hand to ensure they won't use it. You have a long nice hallway, plenty of space on the sides to hang picture frames / paintings. The roof is looking good too, the sarking is a standard and not an upgrade aren't they? Is WIR in master's which means you have both robe and WIR? The open plan area is massive! Love it! I know how you feel with the works on the retaining on the side of the house. We will have one on our house too. I can design the specs but the actual installation will be a challenge as we wanted to do it DIY. I'm not ofay with sewing although I have my mum's old machine (and she never used it!) You really need to have a proper table for the sewing machine with the height just like as you if were using a computer. If the height is too low it will strain your back especially if you use it for longer period. You also have to have good view of the needle for ease of inserting / replacing the thread. Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=79163 Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 552Aug 24, 2015 9:39 am Thanks Yvonne and Epaul! Yvonne you could use a bench but to save your back id be getting an adjustable stool to use with it I had sewing lessons a few years back and the whole room was taller benches with adjustable stools. So I'm guessing you haven't bought a dining table yet? Our build: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=70584 Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 553Aug 24, 2015 9:46 am Epaul, wall sarking isn't standard. Roof sarking is with colorbond but not anticon blanket insulation. We paid $375 to change from tiles to colorbond and a further $560 to change from sarking to 50mm anticon blanket insulation. I can barely hear the rain... and it's likely from the windows as opposed to the roof... They are due to close later this year and heaps of new ones are opening. I love looking at display homes! I have the plan like this. Just minimal changes and did a 3 ways bathroom. Can't wait till the slab comes now! Congrats on the brith of your baby too. Bet it's all a testing time. Where abouts in Newcastle is your rebuild? Must feel a little surreal to watch that going up. How old is your daughter? I love the second pic with the gauzy curtains and fringed canopy, I would have loved that as a kid I totally missed this one. Yeah it sure does feel surreal. Particularly for how long it took to get here and then how quickly it's progressing. Our little Harriet is two in a couple of weeks. She's the sweetest little thing, but then I'd say most parents would say that about their kids That second photo is my favourite too! That's one thing I wish I put higher on the must have list ah well, I'll get most of the robe anyway All the displays at Chisholm are closing? New ones opening... Ooh I can't wait. Hopefully my house is done by then and it'll be WAY too late for me to change anything We're building in Lake Macquarie near Warners Bay. I've always wondered about the plans with joinery- are they building the study desk for you or is that an extra you have to ask for?
