Browse Forums Pools & Spas Re: Pool Budget 16Mar 24, 2014 8:23 pm Maybe a myth now.... but certainly wasn't 30 years ago when we got our fibreglass pool installed at home . Things have changed huh? Re: Pool Budget 17Mar 24, 2014 8:34 pm Not sure if this varies state to state but we've been told by at least 4 places that they can just leave a temp fence (for a fee) until we have a fence installed. Our neighbour had their pool installed at least two weeks ago and still has a temp fence around it and is full. This is NSW. http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: Pool Budget 18Mar 25, 2014 8:55 am ours (Melb) had a temp fence until the paving was completed. We didn't shop around for quotes but our 10x4 FG pool was that much with no paving/fence. (did include solar and Salt chlorinator thingy). I've read in other posts where other cities seem to be more competitive in their pricing. Re: Pool Budget 19Mar 25, 2014 12:10 pm Give Albatross Pools a try, they have a show centre in Dandenong so you may be able to see some of their pools if not too far from you. They do steel side, concrete bottom pools that are lined with vinyl, so they are great value with a fantastic finish. I have had a fibreglass pool and a tile pool in previous homes and the fibreglass pool would have scratchy spots that would cut or abrade you and the tiles were much worse; lots of sharp edges after a few years of wear on the grout. The maintenance and wear on the concrete tiled pool is a pain too. We are getting Albatross to do our new pool, it is very large and a slightly unique design and they were about 30% cheaper than the concrete offerings, and the fibreglass guys couldn't make our pool at all. They may provide the fence - but it often has a time limit. If it's a sleeper shell to finish after the house it will be amongst the costs somewhere ... Coming back to your old stomping grounds, huh?
