Now I am not sure what it was called but it was one of the top of the range selections with the best underlay. It feels so soft under foot!! Anyone recommend it? It's a good carpet, made by a very reputable manufacturer here in Australia. Reports in the industry are all positive. We don't sell it as we have the original Triexta carpet made by Mohawk called Smartstrand. By all means take a look at the Eco+ in stores who sell it. Of course, we would recommend you compare it with Smartstrand Silk. Smartstrand Silk is arguably the softest, most durable, most stain resistant carpet in the world at the moment made by the worlds largest flooring manufacturer in the United States and is available to Australian customers exclusively at Harvey Norman Flooring. When you touch it and walk on it. You will see what we are talking about It is installed in thousands upon thousands of homes from the Sunshine Coast in QLD all the way down to Hobart in Tassie and over to the suburbs of Adelaide. We have had it for several years now and the product performs brilliantly. Re: anyone used Godfrey Hirst eco+ carpet? 6Dec 19, 2013 10:51 am Hi beth95, We ended up putting a deposit down for the eco+carpet. It won't be installed until our house has been built however (probably late Feb/early March). If you're still shopping around in a few months I'll let you know how it goes. Re: anyone used Godfrey Hirst eco+ carpet? 7Dec 20, 2013 7:32 am Thanks Genghis77. I am hoping to have our carpet installed around the same time as you. If I haven't been able to make a decision by March I will definitely be interested to hear your feedback. Re: anyone used Godfrey Hirst eco+ carpet? 9Aug 17, 2014 11:19 pm Beazley77 I know this is an old thread but any update info guys? Its one i'm also considering. I would prefer to buy an Australian made product than one made offshore. Hi Beazley77, We had eco+ carpets installed when our house was finished in March and we moved in a few days after installation. Now, five months later, we absolutely love the carpet. It's really easy to maintain, super easy to clean (and we've got a toddler and an infant who are pretty messy) and it looks and feels pretty amazing. Everyone who comes over to our house comments on how nice it feels (someone described it as "pillows for your feet"). I was worried about whether it would be easy to vacuum because I'd read stories about the Smartstrand being difficult, but the eco+ is fine (mind you, we bought a new Miele vacuum that has adjustable suction). We ended up getting the eco+ Silk Bay in Dusk (I think we saw about four different styles). We found the Silk Bay style doesn't show up footprints like the more plush style did, and it is much nicer underfoot than the loop pile stuff. If you have any more questions I'd be happy to answer them. Because we've only had the carpet for five months, I can't comment on its durability, but so far so good. Hope that helps! Re: anyone used Godfrey Hirst eco+ carpet? 10Aug 28, 2014 2:45 pm I sell it daily with Carpet Court - Feltex Green .....we've been selling it now for over 2 years, no complaints yet! That should tell you something. We are selling the Mohawk as well.... also doing well, but not as good as the Green. This is great carpet - in fact I would lay it in my own home, and have recommended it to friends and family who have taken my advice, had it layed, and been very happy. My only advice is to realise that triexta can be downright difficult to clean without some know how. Although it doesn't stain, it does soil. It won't stain because it doesn't have any dye sites in the fibre. But triexta is an oil loving fibre, and will happily absorb body oils, food fats, moisturising creams etc, which then all act as magnets for dirt. I've written several articles about triexta including SmartStrand, Eco+ etc which can be found on my blog at http://www.mightyclean.com.au and have spent some time teaching other carpet cleaners how to overcome some of the issues assosciated with this carpet. With the right know how, this carpet can be cleaned up beautifully - but it's a myth to think that it will simply clean up with water.
