Might have to go to Special Orders. Yeah I'll just hunt the local supermarkets for cat litter. And yes there are a couple of different types it seems so I'll be careful to ensure I get the right stuff! I need several hundred kg's of the stuff :/ Re: Improving soil after lawn is laid 11Nov 20, 2013 5:16 pm Some do the 9kg bags if that helps but if you need heaps ill find the link when I get home for the company who sells if in 20kg lots, as you buy more they chuck in some free. We only needed 30kgs so went with the three bags of kitty litter, not that the gardener ended up using it!! Re: Improving soil after lawn is laid 12Nov 21, 2013 6:55 am Rex I've been into a couple of Bunnings and I couldn't find it in the pool section. Might have to go to Special Orders. / Good luck. Ive been to so many Bunnings stores that i've given up. No Bunnings store i ever visited stocked this stuff. I would even bring up the product as being "in stock" on their website from my phone and say "this stuff, where is it?". The employees had no idea what it was and claim they'd never seen it. Re: Improving soil after lawn is laid 14Nov 21, 2013 10:32 am If you need a large quantity of benonite clay these guys sell in 20kg bags and for large orders you get some free and free deliver http://sustainableoutdoors.com.au/bentonite-clay/ Re: Improving soil after lawn is laid 15Nov 21, 2013 11:34 am I missed the boat with prepping properly for my Sir Walter and now I have some issues a couple of years down the tracks that I am trying to address. Are zeolites and benotonites really going to permeate into the soil without getting mechanically worked in like they would pre-lay? Will they work properly if they are more or less on the surface? It not the cheapest stuff in the world when you start needing to treat a couple hundred m2. I am prepared to look at it though if it works. What about liquid humates or liquid composts? Has anyone had any success with those type of products on Perth grey sands? I have just aerated the problem areas and topdressed with organic compost so I guess I'll see what response I get from that in the next few weeks. Where do you live? I got mine from Bunnings Lidcombe. A staff told me that smaller branches don't usually stock it. Re: Improving soil after lawn is laid 17Nov 24, 2013 4:48 pm I would apply these after you have aerated the soil to help getting it where it needs to go. I went outside once. Re: Improving soil after lawn is laid 19Nov 24, 2013 11:15 pm The black and gold kitty litter comes in at about 50c/kg from memory... I know it was under $1 We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37160 I had new concrete laid, extended the alfresco and had the sidewalks concreted too. I noticed the concreter didn't put the expansion foam anywhere, there are expansion… 0 8132 the leaves that are now underground go yellow, the tips that poke through photosynthesise and have chlorophyll, same reason they grow rhubarb in the dark. 5 4892 |
