He is aware that we've had a rough trot and that 3 SS's in the space of 4 months wouldn't make anyone happy so he said he'll try his best to get us in as soon as he can. He's arranging to meet us on Monday so we can do a 'kind of' PCI. It will all be done in a bit of a funny order but it will hopefully help us get our Certificate of Occupancy faster. I was suprised to hear however, that our handles had only just been delivered yesterday (should have been last Friday) and I'm guessing will be installed today. Our ceiling insulation also hadn't been installed and so he'd organised someone to do it yesterday who luckily happened to have another job cancelled and our fibre cables (or whatever) haven't been fit off. I really hope this new guy will get things moving and we can move in sooner rather than later. Oh, and I think our fence is organised too. The fencing company that quoted for next door actually did their quote in January and for some reason my neighbour never told me that there was a quote, that was why he then told me that they would only do half a fence as the fencing company had not heard from me....I told them that I never received anything...I have no idea why my neighbour never told me a quote was already done. Re: Simonds Sierra - 3-4 weeks to go because of stupid handl 196Apr 03, 2014 8:36 am Hi mjmelb, what a tough time you've been having! Hopefully your new SS goes the distance and you'll finally get to move into and enjoy your new home. As awful as some of your experiences have been, it's been so helpful for we newbies to read through your posts and know what to look out for. Thank you for being so open and honest in sharing your build. Wishing you a speedy handover (and nice neighbours) Re: Simonds Sierra - 3-4 weeks to go because of stupid handl 197Apr 11, 2014 6:05 am Soo any news on handover? Re: Simonds Sierra - 3-4 weeks to go because of stupid handl 198Apr 11, 2014 8:58 am No official news yet, final job for fixing everything up is booked for next Tuesday, SS reckons we could have handover before Easter, but I highly doubt it and don't think the bank will come to the party in time either. Re: Simonds Sierra - 3-4 weeks to go because of stupid handl 199Apr 11, 2014 2:14 pm Yea the bank will be the biggest issue unless you get the final payment now? We got ours last week and have already out it through so they better come through on time otherwise it will be a few more days later!! Haha Re: Simonds Sierra - 200Apr 16, 2014 12:01 pm So close, yet not close enough!! The house is ready to go now, however we're waiting on the bank to do the valuation correctly (apparently the report wasn't right). We could still have handover tomorrow but appliances wouldn't go in until next week. All good though as we have no idea when we'll move in now. We really wanted it to happen before Easter as I'm away for half of the easter weekend and we're both away the anzac day weekend and we both can't really have time off of work at the moment....so not great timing. Thanks mate. Yeah good points! Leaning towards Option 3 to get a bit extra space in the cabinets but not going too crazy high (and expensive).
