Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Dandy's Redink Build :) 106Apr 15, 2014 12:19 pm So we are now waiting for the chippys to come in and fix the heights of the bathroom cabinetry in both the ensuite and the bathroom. Then the tiler will return to fix what the chippys have ruined and then we will have our plumbing final and electrical final booked!!! I'm really hoping we should have handover at the end of May but Redink have been tight lipped about any PCI date or expected completion We are absolultey busting to get in ! For a few reasons- one being that we get our dogs back after a whole year of waiting as our rental won't allow them Re: Dandy's Redink Build :) 107Apr 16, 2014 12:20 pm Checked the house yesterday and the cabinetry has been raised- we couldn't get in but we could see through the windows. Just waiting for tilers to come back for the kitchen backsplash and fix the tiling over the cabinetry AND tile around the step they forgot to put in. There is also a section of tile on the bath that we weren't overly happy with so I'm hoping that will be fixed at the same time. We are told our electrical final will be Booked after tiling is complete. We have our hot water system with panels in our living room - we opted for a roof mounted system- I'm hoping there won't be any issues with that as anything we asked for that is different from the standard plan has been wrong Re: Dandy's Redink Build :) 108Apr 16, 2014 12:48 pm your bathroom and ens looks great! I love the tiles Re: Dandy's Redink Build :) 109Apr 25, 2014 10:16 pm Kitchen splash-back done Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Had a bit of rework done in the bathrooms, both vanities were installed too low, they had to be taken out and rebuilt 100mm higher as we requested at pre-start. Also the step around the bath in the ensuite was only built on one side, where-as it was designed to be all the way round... it seems a couple of the contractors haven't been reading the drawings, however they were very quick to correct the mistakes! Re: Dandy's Redink Build :) 111Apr 29, 2014 6:00 pm Went out today to deliver our pendent lighting to the house- sparkys were in full force putting in our power points and downlights- exciting to see some action! By tomorrow we should have all our electrical finished! Re: Dandy's Redink Build :) 112May 29, 2014 2:53 pm A bit has happened in the last month, we had the pre handover inspection today, got a few pics while we were there. Worked out perfect. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Dandy's Redink Build :) 113May 30, 2014 3:17 pm Everything looks really good. I like that light over your kitchane island! Hope they finish up quickly for you. Re: Dandy's Redink Build :) 114May 31, 2014 12:24 pm We have 2 more of those lights to go in over the island, 1 either side of the center one. Once handover goes ahead we will have the flooring done straight away then it's painting and heaps of outside stuff like concrete, rain water tanks, internal fencing etc etc etc... Re: Dandy's Redink Build :) 115May 31, 2014 8:46 pm It looks fantastic!! My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Dandy's Redink Build :) 117Jun 03, 2014 1:48 pm thanks for the comments! So we now have a 10 day wait for the small items to be fixed prior to key handover! Because of the public holiday it works out to be next week around Friday but my SS said he would try to have it done quickly as possible As soon as I get word of Hanover date I can book my flooring then finally we can move in!!! Over the weekend Dh dug out all the trenches for our water pipes to be installed for our two 23,000 litre tanks... Very time consuming!! We also have to lay our stamped concrete driveway/veranda/alfresco AND hang all our blinds-so lucky DH has time off once we move in because we have a heap to do... Re: Dandy's Redink Build :) 118Jun 04, 2014 5:39 am The kitchen dining/living area seems massive - lovely bathrooms and kitchen Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 8 17190 thank you! do we need to get this or our builder before we commence new build on the block? 2 10260 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9432 |
