Browse Forums Building A New House Re: New Living Homes 673Jul 23, 2017 10:04 pm So, we decided to go with Leisure for our brick colour. There's really not a lot of difference between Leisure and Engage except Engage has a slight orange fleck through it. We had our minds made up to have a Surfmist roof and garage door, but after a long day's drive and several hours going through the building contract before signing, we ended up going with the sales rep's suggestion of Woodland Grey Colorbond roof, garage door and window frames as those are the colours of the display home at Twin Waters Estate and they did look nice together. However, when I got home and had more time to think, I emailed him to say we wanted to go with our original plan of the Surfmist roof, garage door and white window frames (since we are trying to stick with the passive solar guidelines and all the research says light coloured roofs are much cooler than dark roofs). We are not having the Metallix facade. We decided to save the $600 and have the same brick all around. It doesn't make any difference to us as we actually didn't realise our facade would have Metallix bricks until we went through the colour choices. That actually worked out well as we had spent an extra $600 on having recessed niche shelves in the ensuite and main bathroom showers. Re the Chiffon bricks, we decided against them after finding out from Austral Bricks that they have a "slurry coating" applied to them before firing them in the kiln. Apparently all grey coloured bricks are slurry coated so if a grey brick gets chipped, the true brick colour will show underneath. Re: New Living Homes 675Jul 24, 2017 11:34 am ak87 doesnt matter u make 2 zone or 6zone, when ever u will turn on the air con the whole machine will be running. When u will make more zones, ur zones will be smaller. Ur room will be cool/hot quick, but there will be no energy save as the whole machine running anyway. And the noise will be more when the zone size is small, as the noise cant split into other rooms. So judgement is urs, but for my opinion making more zone got more demerit points then less zone number. Re: New Living Homes 677Jul 24, 2017 11:46 am Any one did land scaping through NLH?
