Is it a 2 story house ? We were told realistically about 12 weeks from lockup to pci We have been at lockup since 15th of July. I guess my SS gave me that very soon date just to get rid of me. Lol possibly. We have been very lucky in that our SS has been very straight up and honest during the process, makes it a little less frustrating when you know exactly where things are at. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11846Aug 04, 2016 11:57 pm Ndyu Hi All, Iam a newbie here , looking at building Vilina 28. Today we had an appt with Dons Tiles and the price to upgrade to 600 x 600 tiles for the whole ground floor was $13K. Anyone can share their experience? Thanks, Andy The yes package includes 500mm tiles for the kitchen, great room and entry way, and 300mm (from memory) for the laundry & bathroom; so it's $13k to change the size to 600mm and add the living room? Wow. They won't do 600mm in the wet areas either. We are paying less than that (not through M) to carpet all of upstairs and the living & study downstairs in our Villina Lane. $13K for tiles looks expensive to me. For that sort of upgrade it would pay to shop around and then delete the Yes tiles if you get a better price elsewhere Villina Lane 11/14 $3900 08/15 Contract 11/15 DA Approval 02/16 Demolition 03/16 Peg out 06/16 Slab 06/16 Ground floor frame 07/16 1st floor frame & windows 09-12/16 Bricks blog Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11847Aug 05, 2016 8:55 am Hi Gibson, Thanks for your reply. The upgrade to 600x600 tiles only apply to entry hallway, living/dining room, great room n kitchen, not wet areas. We are still weighing the pro and cons of having it done by M. Will shop around to get the price idea before our colour selection. Apparently there is a 3-4 week wait on tilers due to the amount of houses to be done Yes, the tiles are done, except for the entry steps, which I heard they normally do the last thing, to avoid damage. 2014 30/05 $3900 25/08 Contracts 02/10 DA submitted 2015 17/02 DA approved 02/04 Colors 10/04 Demo 09/07 Construction start 27/07 Fill 15/08 Slab 21/09 Frame 2016 08/01 Bricks Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11849Aug 05, 2016 9:39 am Ndyu Hi Gibson, Thanks for your reply. We removed bamboo flooring everywhere in the house and found another company saving 5.5K, besides, Masterton's company would not allow underfloor heating with their bamboo and the company I found was fine with it, they actually sell it and install together with bamboo flooring. I guess with tiles being the most expensive flooring option, you would be saving a lot more and may get better choices/quality. 2014 30/05 $3900 25/08 Contracts 02/10 DA submitted 2015 17/02 DA approved 02/04 Colors 10/04 Demo 09/07 Construction start 27/07 Fill 15/08 Slab 21/09 Frame 2016 08/01 Bricks Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11850Aug 05, 2016 10:21 am Ndyu Hi All, Iam a newbie here , looking at building Vilina 28. Quote was $12k to do the 600 tiles. Whilst it is a regret, we could not justify that amount of $. That $12k came in handy at the other appointments. We wanted a house to walk into straight away but it may be better to delete the tile option and do it yourself. https://synergy32.wordpress.com Synergy 32 Contemporary Facade https://synergy32.wordpress.com/ 05/15 Deposit 09/15 Contracts 11/15 Demolition 02/16 Slab 03/16 Frame 05/16 Bricks Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11851Aug 05, 2016 10:23 am Sandra, great to see you've been framed. It's exciting to be able to see the room sizes and get an idea of how it's all going to look. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11854Aug 05, 2016 7:32 pm michelle - My guess would be before, but that is just a guess. Would they classify a house without flooring as inhabitable ? Sandra - Sit back and watch it all take shape before your eyes Ndyu - When we were looking at flooring, M was about the same for the bamboo but they only gave us 4 options of colour. Carpet they wanted to charge us $4,000 more so I told them to shove it. SS is letting us have our final measure done before keys so we can book the flooring and blinds right after handover. I was really happy with our end decision at Harvey Norman flooring. I would defiantly shop around before colours on everything you want to upgrade. A big fat nothing to report on our build this week. I'm sure they will claim more rain days although other houses were being worked on in our street. I seen 2 houses getting colourbond sheets put on even though the weather wasn't the best. It's been 8 weeks since our 2nd story roof was put on and not much has happened since. It's starting to get VERY frustrating with zero communication from anyone at M. I would have paid lock up, bricks and roof 8 months ago if I hadn't checked! Bricks and roof only completed this week! Don't trust ANYTHING and check EVERYTHING! Unfortunately flooring is a new procedure that it doesn't go in until you get keys. Worth everyone checking for themselves but that's what I was told.
