You'll have to submit a statement of Environmental Effects, some blurb about "it's pretty close" and it'll detract from functionality of the house if you change it... Have a look through other recently approved DAs and you should be able to copy some statements that will suit. They might whinge a little and try to play hardball but as long as your area of landscaping is more than 20% you'll be fine. If you have troubles pm me and I'll give you some DA examples to support your case. Typically they don't start until the last week of your 20 days.
