The guys from penrith air said our unit is usually pretty reliable. Just hope that you don't have to rely on the toshiba service department as they are fairly useless. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11507Jun 24, 2016 11:23 am natlyn Hi guys, we have recently started looking at building the Synergy 29 in Sydney. I've noticed a few people building the Synergy 32, is there anyone building the 29? I have been reading the Masterton thread a lot regarding upgrade prices. Has anyone done square set cornice and timber windows that could let me know the price? Welcome natlyn Your best bet is to ask for everything you think you might want in your tender, as it's easy to drop items out before signing the contract. We had timber windows in our old house - so glad to be going to aluminum one in the new house. Wooden ones look great when new but we had problems with rot and windows sticking when it rains as ours suffered with age. Quite a few people here have gone with wooden shutters , might be an option if you want that timber look? I have done all I can to reduce this value without effecting the design of the house too much. What are my chances of getting it passed through council? Has anyone had similar issues with Penrith City Council for a DA approval? Hi Jasonm1, normally DA goes to council for approval as it doesn't meet CDC requirements , thus virtually all council DAs are non-compliant to some extent. Unless you are totally outside what they will accept the council will likely just impose some development conditions on you. For us (in Sutherland) our 'penance' was a larger water tank Villina Lane 11/14 $3900 08/15 Contract 11/15 DA Approval 02/16 Demolition 03/16 Peg out 06/16 Slab 06/16 Ground floor frame 07/16 1st floor frame & windows 09-12/16 Bricks blog Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11512Jun 24, 2016 5:15 pm bleaky Ah the good laugh we got this morning with M email advice on how to keep warm. Hope you're having a great time over there! Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11517Jun 25, 2016 8:44 pm Jasonm1, You should have minimal trouble getting it through Penrith Council, they approve stuff all the time that don't meet their requirements. You'll have to submit a statement of Environmental Effects, some blurb about "it's pretty close" and it'll detract from functionality of the house if you change it... Have a look through other recently approved DAs and you should be able to copy some statements that will suit. They might whinge a little and try to play hardball but as long as your area of landscaping is more than 20% you'll be fine. If you have troubles pm me and I'll give you some DA examples to support your case.
