Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 09, 2013 2:32 pm Hi Guys, The block of land we are interested in has 4 medium size trees (5-6 meters) on it, in the area our house would be built. I can cut down and remove the trees but am wondering if the removal of roots and stumps would add much to the cost of the site scrape/excavation in prep for the slab to go down? anyone have any expertise/experience in this area?? Easiest way is to cut the trees down leaving 1-1.5m above the ground. Your earthworks contractor then has something to grab onto with a drott and will pull it out root ball and all.
