Re: Porter Davis Rochford? 6Jan 12, 2015 10:38 am Glad to see some interest in the Rochford. I'm building a Rochford 40M. Construction started late Nov, so still early days, but my blog's here if you'd like a look; http://buildingdownunder.blogspot.com.au/ Would love to see any blogs or pics from anyone else building a Rochford too. Re: Porter Davis Rochford? 7Jan 12, 2015 10:42 am haha no but he has plenty ...I will see if he will share some Re: Porter Davis Rochford? 8Jan 12, 2015 2:14 pm dojrude I'm building a Rochford 40M... http://buildingdownunder.blogspot.com.au/ Did you get an independent inspector to check over the slab and frame? Re: Porter Davis Rochford? 9Jan 12, 2015 2:51 pm tlblhayward dojrude I'm building a Rochford 40M... http://buildingdownunder.blogspot.com.au/ Did you get an independent inspector to check over the slab and frame? Darbecca are checking the completed slab and frame on 15th Jan. They also did a pre-pour inspection. Why do you ask? Re: Porter Davis Rochford? 11Jan 12, 2015 5:08 pm tlblhayward Just making sure! Haha, thanks. I've read enough on this forum to know that an independent inspector is essential if you want a good job done. I was worried you'd spotted something wrong. Re: Porter Davis Rochford? 12Jan 12, 2015 5:36 pm When you get to frame inspection stage post up a heap of photos and I'll give you my thoughts then. Re: Porter Davis Rochford? 13Feb 05, 2015 11:22 am Hi All, We have signed up to build a rochford34m in saltwater coast. Our land titles in May and if everything is as per schedule then we will have a June site start. Amazing_Venice did you build the oxford in 2010 and you are building again? Kkphilly93 has your how far have you progressed? Are you done with your selections? Look forward to seeing lots of pics of selections and build progress from all the rochford ions! Re: Porter Davis Rochford? 14Feb 05, 2015 11:28 am Btw has anyone opted for a window in the splashback. What type of window did you get? I was told that the max size of window available is 35mmx 3100 and as it's a square set window you can't put glass around it as it would be difficult to cut it and hence only tiles. I wanted a window with a little more height ( from the benchtop to the overhead cabinets) Trying to post a pic but can't figure out how to.... Re: Porter Davis Rochford? 15Feb 05, 2015 11:35 am ive seen it done, but pd are to lazy or to hard basket to do it anymore apparently so its window with tiles Re: Porter Davis Rochford? 16Feb 05, 2015 9:56 pm Hi Hkhanum! First of this is how you put in a picture: Type this: Then right click on the image you want Then click 'copy image URL' Then paste the image URL in between We have not progressed very far at all! We have only just got a rough quote done with all the extras/upgrades and are planning on visiting the world of style just to have a look. After reading through the quote we realised there was a lot we needed to think about! Specifically the extras/upgrades and what we can afford (of course I want everything but we need to work on our budget being first home buyers! We are aiming big with the Rochford haha but we still live with our parents We are 22 and 24 y.o) As for the window splash back we are looking into something like this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ but were mistakenly quoted for a window splash back like this in our quote: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I am interested on everyone's opinions on the standard L-shape island bench or the rectangle shape as per the displays? Re: Porter Davis Rochford? 17Feb 06, 2015 5:01 pm You are right deefeez46waldorf pd are too lazy and say a big NO to everything. We have also requested for a disability shower in the ground floor with just a frameless glass partition and no hob. I am eagerly waiting to see if they would agree to it or what solution they provide. kkphilly93, you guys are so young. We were about the same age when we bought our first home it was a 2 bedroom apartment. All the best for your build. Look at the design in our dna promotion it covers most of the things and you can save a bit but yes many more stuff to add and the costs just keep going up... Also thanks for teaching me to post pictures Heres the sort of window I wanted.. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ . But it seems PD don't do this size of window. They do either of the ones you posted the big picture widow is about $600 and the smaller one is just $153 for 35mmx3100mm. Regarding the kitchen island, according to the new promo we would get a 40mm edge and a 1080mm wide island. I think the L shape will not look good at that size and I am going to ask the kitchen culture people at the appointment if they can chop of the extra bit and use the stone and cabinets to build the galley cabinets and I will pay for the rest let's see how it goes. Re: Porter Davis Rochford? 19Feb 15, 2015 5:33 pm Hkhanum dojrude, how's you build coming along? I'm updating the blog when I can. We only get to site about once every 3 weeks, so not as often as I'd like. Bricking is due to start this week, so should get some photos of that soon. http://buildingdownunder.blogspot.com.au Re: Porter Davis Rochford? 20Apr 30, 2015 3:26 pm Very quiet in here. Did any of you finally decide on the Rochford and if so, have you started building yet? Mine is still progressing - slower than I'd hoped due to the number of issues that have been highlighted along the way which don't seem to be progressing very quickly at all at the moment. Details on the blog in my signature if anyone's interested. Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 12338 |
