Mates do we get solar hot water system, or water tanks with Arden? I spoke to someone who said that one of those might be required to meet the energy ratings, but I've not seen any mention of it in mine.

Inspired Homes, who we signed with, has been sub contracting their builds to Arden for however many years. Now Arden have too much work, both theirs and Inspired, and so are about to split. One of the Arden directors has branched off to form a new builder, Como Homes, under the same building licence, and they will do work only for Inspired. Seems as though my input here will not be relevant to Arden once we start building next year .. but I'll still be lurking to see how you all go Build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88062 Re: Arden Developments 2585Dec 04, 2017 1:18 pm Treedance How was your experience with inspired Clarymoo? Very good so far. They just do the floorplan part and then Arden, now Como, do the actual build. Our floor plan is fully customised, the only standard part is the kitchen but even that we moved things around. Their standard inclusions are similar to Arden but with some differences. I’m specifically thinking of 1. Shelves +/- drawers in robes 2. Study desk/shelving 3. open shelving in side stairs facing living/dining Thanks everyone Hi treedance! Did i read in a previous post that you Re building a bargelloin whitehorse. We are doing the same. Just wondering what stage you are at? We got quotes from arden for a wir 3 shelf and 3 drawer quiet narrow about 60 cm was $450 whuch i thought was pretty expensive. Follow our Arden Toulouse build at http://ardentoulouse.blogspot.com.au Re: Arden Developments 2588Dec 04, 2017 4:32 pm Ezza78 Thanks Dave, would work for the one screw but the 2nd one is a particular distance from the first, not changeable. Perhaps I need to buy different shelves. Will worry about it when built I guess. You can use a hollow wall anchor. Bunnings will have them and they have different weight ratings: https://www.bunnings.com.au/our-range/b ... ollow-wall Re: Arden Developments 2589Dec 04, 2017 7:01 pm interesting that arden have too much work now. i was under the impression they only take on so much projects so that they dont get over run and compromise on quality (something i read somewhere during our research into whether or not to build with arden). good luck with como clareymoo! I'm hoping they stick to their promise on quality and focus, and not become the next C, H, or M (something they also said they don't aspire to be). Re: Arden Developments 2594Dec 05, 2017 5:44 am Hi Himadri Welcome to the forum🙂 We are still finalising plans but yes, have been working with Bargello to build in Whitehorse. I agree their cabinetry costs sound expensive. I began process of getting a quote but hadn’t completed - starting prices elsewhere were not cheap though - seems an expensive component however it’s done. Still interested to hear if anyone else has done comparative quotes?? Re: Arden Developments 2595Dec 05, 2017 5:48 am pEast Ezza78 Clareymoo Sooo just got an interesting call. I saw peast mentioned his simmonds neighbours blasted their way through framing. Maybe they're smart and stocked up on this stuff early? Still interested to hear if anyone else has done comparative quotes?? I've got quotes from another builder H before, and they were more expensive if i remember. I visited some homeshows this year as well and prices start at around 600 bucks for a fully kitted wardrobe (not WIR). That will give you drawer towers, shelves, hanging rods, shoe racks, etc. So it isn't cheap either way. I myself just got arden to put drawer towers in my robes/WIRs (about 150 bucks each) just so we have something to put our stuff in on day 1, and plan to DIY additional shelves/rods myself using kit from either ikea or bunnings. We got some cabinetry done in last house that cost more than Arden’s prices, I figured there will be a margin but if they are there anyway doing other stuff would all even out.
