Thanks g33kerb0t. Definitely kitchen upgrades are more important.
thanks for sharing insights. If costs are this high, i would definitely go with the standard. does not make sense to spend so much money.

Hehe do you mean read through the contract? Yeah, make sure there's nothing d0dgy or too against our favour i suppose. We are definitely engaging an inspector just not sure if we need this early No we didn't, will just do the 4 building inspection stages they recommend Thanks Ezza. I think we probably don;t need this one. Hope you;re enjoying your trip. If so, was it worth it? If I felt differently I probably would have had someone look over the documents. I actually went back through this entire thread last night and no one seems to have had any contract issues with Arden so I'm not going to do this inspection. I would love to read Androolz blog to see his struggles, he's made it private though. Regarding contract as the build progresses keep reading it again and again checking that u r getting what u wanted - stain for a door - check whether it is saying 1 or 2 or 3 stains / if not ask for clarification and when they do the stain check that it is stained for that many times - sometimes they stain it only once and then don't turn - follow my build Arden homes Votivo 37 iin south east: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88622 Re: Arden Developments 1492Sep 28, 2017 8:54 am pEast Clareymoo dave398 [quote="Clareymoo"]Did anyone have a pre-contract independent inspection? Oh yes I have everything in my own spreadsheet - standard inclusions, tender upgrades and prices. I'm set on that side and will be double checking my life away! They actually tried to add bushfire protection to us (close but not in a bushfire zone) and charge us for a standard inclusion already. I work part time so I already planned to be that annoying owner who visits too often. Hopefully my SS likes kids hehe Build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88062 Re: Arden Developments 1494Sep 28, 2017 9:58 am Has anybody got soil classified at H1 and what was the site costs in that case with 200mm fill follow my build Arden homes Votivo 37 iin south east: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88622 Re: Arden Developments 1495Sep 29, 2017 6:23 pm Hi All, I'm new to the Arden forum ...but have been lurking here for the last few days. We originally went with another builder but had to pull out due to the exorbitant site cost for a single storey where the house once build would end up 1.5m below street level. We have a 2m fall towards the rear of the property but the front of the block is higher than the street. We have had a preliminary discussion with Arden and they have confirmed that they can build the house without a significant drop - which we are very happy with. the Votivo 43 (possibly can be made split level towards the back - rumpus and alfresco) is our preference at this stage. We have visited the Keysborough display and was quite impressed - the SC was extremely helpful too... I'm quite exhausted since we wasted 8 months with the prev. builder but hope the decision to go with Arden wouldn't be a disaster. Does anybody have a booklet with colour appointment prices which I can browse through so I can get an idea please? thanks _________________________________________ Regards Manj https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88256 Re: Arden Developments 1496Sep 29, 2017 6:36 pm Manj Hi All, I'm new to the Arden forum ...but have been lurking here for the last few days. Arden Don't have a printed price book that they release. There is old posts on here with some of the upgrade costs, they are about 6 months old and I know the light price has changed since they was posted. Thank you ribbox .... I guess I will wait for the colour appointment. _________________________________________ Regards Manj https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88256 Re: Arden Developments 1498Sep 29, 2017 6:42 pm Your best bet is to go to display homes and ask them for the as displayed price list. That will give you an idea on some items. Otherwise browsing through the forums for some ballpark prices would be the other option Follow our Arden Toulouse build at http://ardentoulouse.blogspot.com.au Re: Arden Developments 1499Sep 29, 2017 6:44 pm geminithinker Your best bet is to go to display homes and ask them for the as displayed price list.
