Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2421May 28, 2015 10:21 am Absolutely. Did your settlement date get pushed back as well. I'm getting nervous about building now. Brand new estate. 12 houses all together. Not bought off the plan. So we all have different builders. No clue what this will mean for when we start. We'd like to start as soon as we can. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2422May 28, 2015 10:23 am Sure did. By 3 months. New estate? The surprises aren't over yet. We just got told we won't have gas until december Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2423May 28, 2015 10:24 am A massive block of land was sold, and divided into 12 blocks which they called a brand new estate. They're putting in the roads, pipes etc now. So are you in your house and you won't have gas until December?!!!! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2424May 28, 2015 10:26 am We are at fixing stage now. Move in date approx mid july. So 5 months of paying for gas bottles. And have to pay for install ourselves but the developer has kindly offered to pay for swap over. Super!!!! 😡😡 Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2425May 28, 2015 10:27 am Getting close! We keep imagining our first night. There'll be heaps of laughing I'm sure. Our dogs will love the yard!!!!!!!!!!! You're almost there Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2426May 28, 2015 10:29 am So do we! We've ** broken in and done a walk around and imagined what its going to look like! Hopefully we have fences in soon so we can let the dogs into there new backyard! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2427May 28, 2015 10:30 am I can't wait to get to your stage!!!! Excited for you Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2428May 28, 2015 10:35 am Thanks!! im SOOO ready to get in!!! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2429May 28, 2015 1:54 pm Joelgia mine came in on value so didn't need it, but I've noted the HBC guys will do what it takes to lock in the sale. My guy was great when my husband lost him job and Resolve told me that we had to withdraw our application and wait for six months before re-applying. He was furious and went to Resolve and made them sort it out, if it wasn't for him we wouldn't be building at all.
And MrsSilverbeetle yes our settlement has been pushed back and we don't even have a date just "hopefully in June." So frustrating because now we'll probably be trying to lay a slab in the middle of winter. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2430May 28, 2015 6:32 pm Puglover you're going to have celebrations galore!! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2431May 28, 2015 6:36 pm After signing in Oct 2013 with an expected title of Sep 2014, my block finally titled a month ago and have just been passed to the Construction Team! Very Excited. Hoping for a smooth quick build! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2432May 28, 2015 6:39 pm Omg puglover thats such fantastic news!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2433May 31, 2015 10:02 am Hi Everyone I have just found this forum, so much to take in! We are still waiting for land to title in Armstrong Creek, should be end of June but was due in April :/ Really worried about how our colours are going to look as it has been so long since we did the colour appointment. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2434May 31, 2015 10:39 am Welcome JaxCook!! How exciting for you guys. What floorplan did you choose and interior colours? Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2435May 31, 2015 2:22 pm Thanks Parrious We have chosen the three bedroom Oasis26 with study at the front. We have flipped the house to suit the sun better. Colours....seemed like such a long time ago! We went with Java but made changes to it. Our splashback tiles we changed to Linseed and the base doors/drawers/kickrail we changed to clamshell. We are painting the walls Smoke Pearl. What are others building? I am also worried as there are no displays of the Oasis so have not seen through the house, it's scary just using imagination to visualise it Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2436May 31, 2015 2:49 pm Sounds awesome. Did you choose colours for the walls or did you have to pay the $500 to customise? We chose similar to Java i cant remember whats its called but it was the wooden inspired theme. We are building the Orlando and theres no display of that either! Imagination all the way. We've just competed fixing stage and so far we underimagined the soze and space of things so that was a pleasant surprise! we chose colours in dec so couldnt remember all we chose so to see it and be happy is good. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2437May 31, 2015 2:57 pm yay another person! Welcome. I'm building the Haven19 and have the same problem in that there are no displays. We managed to find one being built that was a similar floor plan (slightly smaller layout) which was so helpful, we've been back twice and snuck inside to check it out and do some measuring. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2438May 31, 2015 2:58 pm We didn't pay the $500 but I asked to change the colour as I have kids and really didn't want white walls. They were fairly good about changing things. Love the layout of the Orlando, how wide is your block? How exciting to be at fixing stage, do you have pics? will have to go and look at the Haven Yep we have looked at others the same size as ours but hard to picture it. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2439May 31, 2015 3:01 pm we keep driving around estates looking for HBC houses under construction, going in to take a look and in most cases the floor plans are usually left ****** around. We've done that with five places now, some of those building sites are absolutely pig stys! We reckon we would have more luck finding our floorplan under construction in the northern suburbs but too far to drive I havent, and i havent looked to much into it, but on face value its not the saviour its trying to make out to be. Please see picture. 0 6200 For reference, this is the Austlii reference. My take on this is, that they would be breaking the law denying access to a homeowner in Victoria, or their agent from having… 1 8933 |
