Great feeling isn't it? But frustrating at the same time cos you just want to be in there! It will happen fast enough trust me! Best advice I can give you is pack pack pack!!! And write where things are going so people helping you can navigate where things are going! Even if something isn't going in a box, put a sign on it that says where it's going! That was the most frustrating thing about our move! Everything just got dumped wherever and I am wading through so much crap right now :/ Goodluck!! Thanks Ruby. We've got a meeting with our SS to have a walk through the house today, as we haven't been able to get in since cabinets where installed. Our driveway is being poured next week. So close Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1573Jun 20, 2014 7:21 pm Gaviscon Girl impish73 Gaviscon Girl Now that my architraves, skirting and window frames are up, it's time to be serious about getting a quote for plantation shutters. I've had a few outrageous quotes, but I'm meeting a guy from Into Blinds at the property on Monday. Can anyone recommend a good place for Plantation Shutters? We have been quoted for shutters in our lounge and dining areas. They are $1K each 1.8m x 1.8m. How much were you quoted? Latest one was from Wynstan with a Y! 1800x1450 = $1088 1800x2170 = $1519 1800x1210 = $946 Who are you going through? We have only got one quote so far and it was from https://www.facebook.com/Margiesdecor We haven't started building yet so haven't got the final plans. Our full quote for the house was approx $6700. they included some plantation shutters and double blinds although I haven;t made up my mind whether I want curtains / honeycomb / roman blinds yet Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1574Jun 20, 2014 11:42 pm We met our SS today, really nice guy. Walked us through and let us know what needs to be finalized. Our laminate flooring was in and we love it! Stone bench top and garage doors are all in and we are both very happy. Carpet was in the midst of being installed today. Our SS said we will have PCI next Friday, but if he can't get it all organised by then we'd have PCI the following week. Which is fine by us. Just really happy to get in and see everything. Husband and I are gonna get a move on with packing and organizing to give our landlord notice. I cant understand the logic behind that...without floor, we cant build right...and if concrete floor is mentioned, i guess frames also should be mentioned So as per her argument, my interpretation is wrong and not their contract..and more interestingly I dont see flooring mentioned in completion stage as well...this is fun ! I want them to accept their fault or prove me wrong...till then, im not gonna let go !! 9/4/14-Site Start 9/5/14-Slab 16/5/14-Frame 21/5/14-Roof 31/5/14-Bricks 6/6/14-Plaster 14/6/14-Fixing 19/7/14 -Flooring 8/8/14 - Keys http://newnestinmelbourne.blogspot.com.au/ I havent, and i havent looked to much into it, but on face value its not the saviour its trying to make out to be.
