In fact, we were only allowed to do interest only payments due to it being a construction loan! We are with commonwealth bank though, not resolve, so maybe that makes a difference... We won't be paying interest only forever of course, but depending on whether we turn this into an investment property one day we may only make payments into our offset account and not onto the actual principle amount itself... On top of our interest only that is... I'm sure I was td there would be 2 accounts. You put your payment into one and the loan would pay itself from that account. And you could put more in and it would be considered like you've paid money into your mortgage and stop the interest for that amount but you could redraw it when you wanted. But now... We just have one BlueBay account that takes money out of my previously existing bank account. One is treated like a savings/everyday use account (also know as offset) and the other is your main loan. So if your wages etc get paid into the offset it reduces the interest being accrued on your loan account...and then your loan repayments are automatically deducted from your offset. That's my understanding anyway. Resolve forget yo set my offset up so it has to be done at the end and this is the arrangement I will have. At the moment loan repayments are being deducted from my regular ANZ which I will be closing. They must have forgotten mine too. Convenient! Who do I call to remind them? They won't convert the second account to offset until the construction has finished. I'm assuming that's why resolve haven't changed both of yours over. It has to be set up at the beginning as part of the Blubay package but they didn't lodge my offset form so Blubay were going to charge me $125 to set up an offset account but Resolve finance are picking up the bill. Apparently they can't set it up in the middle of money being drawn down so that's why I have to wait until the end. Check with Resolve GG. Blog: http://dandesbuild.blogspot.com.au Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1092May 02, 2014 2:21 pm Hi All, Wow this has been addictive reading all the post seeing how everyone has progressed in their builds and their different stages of paperwork! We have just signed up with the homebuyers centre to build our first home. And it's been really good reading everyone's different stories and been able take notes on everything so that when we do out Colour selection and upgrades we know what to ask. Little about us, I'm building with my fiancé we are both 27, building the Circa 21 in Cardinia Lakes signed our PWC, we upgraded our Alfresco to finish level with the back of our house, and changed the dining room wall into a sliding door so we can open up the dining and the living room to our alfresco area. also upgraded the facade to the Mona. Our land has already titled to we haven't had to do the long waits I know a lot of you have had. So just waiting on finance and the land settlement. Pooks i wish that I got onto the forum earlier as I work for Robot Building Supplies and we manufacture Colourbond fencing and I could have got you a good deal on ur fencing and u would only need someone to install. Oh well. Look forward to hearing how ur hand over goes. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1093May 02, 2014 5:03 pm Box27 welcome!! I wished you joined earlier with your colorbond contacts, haha! I'm glad we have been helpful, we certainly have combined a lot of info up to this point...55 pages! We should all join forces and write a book! I love your idea of changing the dining room wall, it will have such a spacious feeling looking forward to hearing about your progress. There won't be a blog update until tomorrow guys. I hope the blinds aren't down when I go check out our splash back tomorrow...it won't make a very interesting entry if they are! We got a retractable clothesline from Masters that has the post for a colorbond fence. The unit for it will attached to the back of the house and will reach out to the back fence when needed. They are pretty easy to put up. Did anyone get offered a colourbond roof for the same price as tiles? Reason why I ask is that my company we work for supplies the Colourbond roofing to boutique and HBC and they said that they will be offering this to customers, wasn't sure if it was just boutique or both? Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1097May 02, 2014 7:32 pm From what I have heard- with Boutique, colorbond roof is standard and it's an upgrade with HBC. Welcome, Box 27! I am also building the Circa 21 and I believe mtreg21 is as well. I have extended the concrete to end flush with the back of our house, but not the actual alfresco. I have changed the dining room window into a sliding door, so both can be opened perpendicularly. I stayed with the Traditional facade, but I put a window in the wall between the Home Theatre and the entrance. The Mona facade is very nice and modern. How much extra was the upgrade? I have also put windows on the long wall of the Home Theatre as well as the side wall of the dining room, so by the time I was done with those kinds of things, I was afraid to ask! LOL!
