Regarding the crows feet, either way will look nice. Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva in SA- PAINTING! 326Aug 24, 2013 4:08 pm I think I like it better the way it is. Looks fine now that i see it with both ways!!! Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva in SA- PAINTING! 328Aug 24, 2013 5:41 pm Yes I have seen those houses there. I pointed them out to Marc on the way out. If we get it painted over they will probably just whack the cream on top. It will either look darker because of that or over time will weather and show through. May have to live with it. Getting there after a slow start. Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva in SA- PAINTING! 330Aug 24, 2013 5:45 pm jennifer80 I think I like it better the way it is. Maybe it will turn out to be a good mistake _lucinda I love the look of the front of your house. Regarding the crows feet, either way will look nice. It may turn out to be one of those things for the better. If it had been cream I probably would have sat there saying ummmmm we should've made it grey. Things happen for a reason. Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva in SA- PAINTING! 331Aug 24, 2013 6:10 pm I like it the way it is and think for the reasons that you gave would be tempted to keep as is. The house is looking great, so close to completion methinks? Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva in SA- PAINTING! 332Aug 24, 2013 7:19 pm FairmontSAcustom I like it the way it is and think for the reasons that you gave would be tempted to keep as is. The house is looking great, so close to completion methinks? Yes we were told two weeks ago to expect 6-8 weeks but as we have internal flooring and pavers by builder to add another 2 weeks so that would be 8-10 weeks a fortnight ago. As long as the weather is good and they can get our paving done I am hoping within the next 6 weeks or even sooner. Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva in SA- PAINTING! 333Aug 25, 2013 9:35 pm I think the gables look great as is Love your bricks too, they are just lovely Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva in SA- PAINTING! 335Aug 25, 2013 10:08 pm i like the grey but both do look good. our builder doing the paving and flooring is what is holding us up atm? Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva- Just a little upset! 336Aug 26, 2013 6:45 pm After saying how inconsiderate people were when reading about Frozenkuku's broken windows....... Some $&@%#!/@ was just as inconsiderate at our place. Discovered two broken windows today on our bay window. Why do people do that!?!? The extra cash we have is now definitely going towards the alarm system straight away. Hope karma gets them. There was also beer bottles and cans near the portaloo on the corner. I wonder who they came from? http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y472/amancharmar/image_zpsff594e52.jpg To top it off I noticed some of our bricks yellowing. I've heard of some cream bricks going green because of some chemical. Any one know what is going on here? It is in a few places across the front. http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y472/amancharmar/image_zps5f5cd731.jpg Now feeling a little upset and over it all really. Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva- Just a little upset! 337Aug 26, 2013 6:46 pm Oh and there is a crack in the wood on the front gable. Maybe this is why they haven't painted it yet. Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva- Just a little upset! 338Aug 26, 2013 7:08 pm That sux about the window, selfish idiots. As for the chemical I suspect from the Bowral website that it might be acid turn which occurs from incorrect cleaning. On the upside if that is what it is it can be fixed. So sorry for the problems Amancharmar http://www.bowralbricks.com.au/technical-info/brick-manuals/brick-cleaning-and-maintenance Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva- Just a little upset! 339Aug 26, 2013 7:53 pm Sorry to see the broken windows etc hopefully gets fixed up nice and quickly for you!
