No idea what we'll do with the paint... We may just leave it for a bit and perhaps eventually render the whole front.
That's a funny dream! LOL

I really like the different size Feel free to follow our build! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59958 Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva @ Seaford Meadows ROOF and BRIC 251Jun 23, 2013 7:55 pm Thanks I love them. It will be interesting to see it with rendered band and quoins. So I've been thinking about decorating and furnishings. We won't have a lot of money for new furniture once we are in but there is one thing on our MUST HAVE list- our 3 year old daughter's bed. We promised her this for the new house if she had dry nights which she has had for months since the summer. I stumbled across this the other day and have decided to take it on as my project for the next few months so it is ready when we move in. I need help with a decision though..... Option 1: leave it exactly as is. She sleeps top or bottom with other acting as reading nook with cushions etc and then another bed for sleepovers (originally I wanted a single with a trundle) Option 2: leave out the bottom bed and make a loft bed with the part underneath like a cubby house area. This would mean the loss of storage drawers. Bearing in mind we have a designated toy room and plans for a cubby out back eventually too. Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva @ Seaford Meadows ROOF and BRIC 252Jun 23, 2013 8:52 pm Oh my gosh, what a wonderful bed. That'd be the envy of many a little princess. I love it. Just like it is with a separate nook/second bed for friends sleeping over. Could the pink bit at the bottom become the drawers for storage? Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva @ Seaford Meadows ROOF and BRIC 254Jun 23, 2013 9:46 pm I like option 1, your daughter is a very lucky girl! Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva @ Seaford Meadows ROOF and BRIC 255Jun 25, 2013 11:32 pm Yeah I think option 1 too. Pink bits are drawers. Yes pain in the butt to change sheets but there is enough wiggle room. Maybe I'll encourage her to sleep on the bottom. Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva @ Seaford Meadows ROOF and BRIC 256Jun 26, 2013 12:24 am Wowzers!!! Now that's a bed! Yeah I think option 1. Just remember to build it in a way that you can pull some apart to move in as you wont get that assembled through the bedroom door! We had that trouble when our eldest had a loft type bed. Had to fully pull it apart to move it anywhere. Fingers crossed it works. Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva @ Seaford Meadows ROOF and BRIC 258Jun 26, 2013 6:52 pm I'm not feeling so great about my build at the moment.....as the walls go up I'm starting to regret not putting in the door from the garage to house. We didn't put one in as we really wanted the second room at the front for toy room and opted for that as door would look weird in the toy room or home theatre. Other option was only having the home theatre and then a walk in pantry and storage long ways with the storage having the door to go through. IYKWIM. Feel like we should have left out the wall even. I originally just wanted as many rooms as possible to suit all our needs and to future proof if we have three kids. I know it will all be fine but feeling a little low about it at the moment. Any one else go through this....wishing they'd gone with a major structural difference in their build? Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva @ Seaford Meadows ROOF and BRIC 259Jun 26, 2013 6:59 pm I wish I had a 4th bedroom but we decided not to so that our kids could have larger bedrooms. Oh to have everything, there is always a compromise! Re: Modified Fairmont Geneva @ Seaford Meadows ROOF and BRIC 260Jun 26, 2013 9:10 pm Very lucky girl to be getting that bed I must say! Oh and i think you will always wish you did something different!
