This site will give you some ideas. http://www.gabion1.com.au/index.htm Build thread: here Land Nov 12, Contract 6/07/13, Consent 15/08/13, Start 20/09/13, Slab 25/09/13, Frame 4/10/13, Brick 21/10/13, Roof 2/11/13, Lock-up 17/12/13, Handover 3/3/14 Re: Outdoor firepit and permanent seating structure 7Mar 18, 2013 7:36 pm Thanks everyone, like the idea of the gabions, would probably make it easier, might be a little hard to do the seat wall though. I would like it too be in a semi-circular shape, and a suggestion from a friend was to leave the other side open as people can than pull up there own chairs if they so wish. I think it would be a lot easier to do three sides of a square if I used besser blocks.. I will keep looking. Thanks all Re: Outdoor firepit and permanent seating structure 8Mar 18, 2013 9:07 pm Thanks Moxie for that thread link Looks like I will be a while on there checking them all out lol Know where your going in life............... you may already be there Re: Outdoor firepit and permanent seating structure 9Mar 20, 2013 5:03 pm Been toying around with the same idea so I have been filling up my outdoor insperations folder up on Pinterest. Anyway, back to reality, with the Besser blocks can one still make a curve and then render, is there any instructions anywhere on how to do this? A friend was also saying that it is best to put the fire on levels in the pit, with an open area big enough to fit a shovel in to catch ash and discard and also to allow air to draw up through the fire, makes sense to me as most fires inside use this approach. Again, I have limited knowledge so if anyone has any knowledge or instructions re: Besser Blocks please direct me to that area. Thanks again all There is no reason why building contract reconciliation cannot be done prior to handover, if the builder won't do it get someone to do it for you.
