Your house is looking beautiful, I can't wait to see more photos of the kitchen. We've got the same Fujiclear ATU as you. The kids like to sit on top of it and pretend to drive it. The only unfortunate thing for us is that it had to go directly in front of our front verandah, right in front of the house. We're trying to camouflage it with bushes! Our owner-builder journey - viewtopic.php?f=38&t=45187 Re: G3mmill Custom Build in Kalamunda, Perth Keys, keys, key 427Jul 30, 2013 2:16 pm Hi Tamk, I just realised I followed your thread awhile ago before we started building For awhile our ATU was going to be in front of our house just near the front door - managed to get them to move it though but before we did I had thought of growing bushes around to cover it. No doubt my 2 x kids will find something to do with the unit I'll post more pics of the kitchen once the splash backs are in...still waiting for them, apparently they got damaged at the manufacturers and had to be redone. We've now keyed the locks so everyone is now locked out Tracyw Looks great! U must be so chuffed that u are scheduling everything now! Yes I am, better to speak to the trades direct rather than wait for 2nd or 3rd hand information. Thanks fmac and bradster Re: G3mmill Custom Build in Kalamunda, Perth Keys, keys, key 428Jul 31, 2013 6:13 pm Some more progress today... Our concrete floors were sealed ready for the floor laying, the floor layers may start either this Friday or Monday. The splash backs were finally fitted today and while I love love love the laundry splash back Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Not sure about the kitchen splash back, firstly it can't be finished because there are pieces missing, there's no piece next to either window and a large piece is missing on the right hand side of kitchen I've emailed the CLO to find out...still can't escape from this builder....secondly I'm not loving the colour, I thought it would be fine but now it almost seems too light, pictures don't show but it seems more silver than gunmetal or maybe in my mind when I chose so many months ago it seemed darker to me?? Anyway I'm hoping it will grow on me, as it will match our stools perfectly. Edited to add: CLO just emailed, splash back man is coming back, the power switch threw their measurements out Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: G3mmill Custom Build in Kalamunda, Perth-splash backs 429Jul 31, 2013 6:28 pm OMG your laundry splashback is devine!!!! I love the colour of the kitchen one and think it looks great. I didn't like most of my selections when I saw them for the first time - I think I'd either been picturing them in my mind for so long that the picture changed or they were just so different to what I'd seen in display homes that I was a bit shocked when I first saw them. This feeling didn't last long though and now I love it all. Fingers crossed it grows on you, I'm sure it will Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Re: G3mmill Custom Build in Kalamunda, Perth-splash backs 430Jul 31, 2013 6:38 pm Thanks SB, the laundry splash back just turned out so much better than I expected, its probably outshining the kitchen a bit Re: G3mmill Custom Build in Kalamunda, Perth-splash backs 431Jul 31, 2013 6:44 pm Oh laundry is so pretty <3 I like kitchen one but it does look lighter than gunmetal I saw in store though. Prob just different lighting Re: G3mmill Custom Build in Kalamunda, Perth-splash backs 432Jul 31, 2013 7:20 pm I am dying over your laundry!! Gosh I would just spend all my time there!!! I think once you have flooring and splash back finished the colour will be perfect! It is probably getting a lot of light from your gorgeous window to make it look lighter. We were advised that the colour can look very different as the size of the glass affects the amount of light Physics or something is the reason :/ I was like yup you lost me Jen Building with HomeGroupWA (started as Scott Park Homes ) - Grand Wisteria Check out my Build Thread!! Just shows my dedication to this site The front room is very light and I think its lightening the colours up much more than I realised. Enelya - Thanks I hate laundry and ironing but I might just like it a bit more now, if I get to spend time in there. The laundry was my fun room where I picked one of my favourite colours and its great. Thanks LeanneR and bradster! Re: G3mmill Custom Build in Kalamunda, Perth-splash backs 437Aug 05, 2013 7:33 am The electrician starts today so all led's, pendants and heat lamps will be installed The flooring guys have started and I've been to the house 3 x times this weekend and forgot to take a picture each time, they're coming back tomorrow when the electrician has finished his work. The shire is coming out to inspect our septic tomorrow, fingers crossed they will pass it, its not 100% complete but the installer seems to think they will approve even though not finished - I hope so. My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34269 6 55346 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point.
