We just put weatherproof powerpoints outside. The downside is that you have to turn the lights on & off from the outside. We never thought of having deck lights when we built the house, would have been nice to have an internal switch I guess.
The lights have a huge transformer which is nicely hidden under the deck.

Rikster it looks perfect. The kids' rooms are absolutely outstanding. The attention to detail is brilliant.

I've just spent 5 minutes trying to find emoticons that can live up to your house!

It's just amazing...your wife has done such a great job...I don't think I'll ever end up with such a co-ordinated house...it's been said before, but the attention to detail is wonderful.

This is designer heaven and the way you and Mrs Rikster have coordinated all the colours and soft furnishings is just inspirational. I see an 'American influence' style of decorating. The attention to detail is just amazing. I dont know what else to say other than how wonderful it is seeing your beautiful home. Very unique and individual...

Fantastic Rikster!!!! Me, DH and my mum have all been drooling over your pics for the last few minutes. The colours have been so well co-ordinated in every room. I especially love your daughter's room. Just gorgeous

Thanks for your comments. I can't say it enough, when it comes to clour and soft furnishings I've got no idea - it's all my wife.

There is definitely an American influence - well picked Mrs B.

The great thing about the kids rooms is that they're bright enough to be age appropriate for our toddler and infant but could also work when they're 10. Which is great cos we don't want to go through this again for a while.

Thank Heavens it's almost over.

I agree. But my wife strongly dissagrees. She thinks she would do a terrible job because if people didn't like what she liked what do you do? Have you ever had that happen?

WOW what fabulous matching of colours between painting, soft furnishings and your furniture. I love the special touches of the framed stitchery in both the childrens rooms. The clever curtaining in the family room that ties in so many colour features in the room.

Rikster - congratulations on your home. Your whole family should be so proud of your achievements. We too have a young daughter and a toddler son - funnily enough I have picked a nautical theme for his room as well - exactly as you say it suits them for longer then just their infancy.
