Re: First Build - Madora Bay - Almost lock up - windows in : 183Oct 21, 2013 12:10 am Lewis350 Hi Engle, Thanks for the info on the builder. We are still with Karen in pre start. I am hopeful for council approval this week (fingers crossed), then we might get a CLO and SS. Can I please ask who you used for your data, tv and phone points? We were going to use Intelligent homes, but as they want us to go thru builder for their scheduling, we will have to pay a $350 variation plus the minimum package of $1100 - which I find is very expensive anyway.....I was thinking that any old electrician could do the job - but need to find one soonish. Hey Lewis, We used D&S Communications - 0417 914 387 - Darryl Wyatt / We just let them know when we were ready for them to be installed and they went and installed them. D&S was one of the companies Content recommended. I am not sure how much they charged as my husband organised it? But don't think it was more than $600 but could be wrong? Also - Content allowed us to make any changes without incurring a variation before slab went down. We made tonnes of changes and tonnes of changes after pre-start and didnt get charged a variation. It is best to get them to install before the ceiling goes in. Content contacted us with a letter to let us know when to arrange it also so we weren't left in the dark and guessing when. Re: First Build - Madora Bay - Almost lock up - windows in : 184Oct 21, 2013 12:22 am Thanks for the Electrical contact number Engle! I will give them a call tomorrow. Hmmm so you contacted D&S directed and not thru builder? Did you do any changes after signing final contract? Because I was told that anything we want to change from now will cop the $350 variation fee....however the builder are organizing for the air con to be deleted - so maybe we can change a few things, with no fee?? Re: First Build - Madora Bay - White set almost complete 186Oct 21, 2013 1:00 am I think it all just depends on who you get. We had Bec as our pre-start lady. She was great and yeah we were allowed to make many changes right up until slab went down. Maybe they were just being nice to us? Not sure? We were given recommendations by the builder on whom to contact for the tv/phone points so yep contacted them directly and liaised with our site supervisor when it was required. We are just in the process of organising soakwells but kinda wish that we got them to do it. We are contacting different companies at the moment for the best quote but not sure whether to go for concrete or poly. We need them done in 2 weeks though as don't want to hold up our paving. We are getting our paver supplied by the builder to do additional paving for us so this is why it will be affected if we dont get the soakwells in soon Purchased Land: October 2010 Pre Quotation: August 2012 Pre Start Complete: 29 Nov 2012 Refinance for Build approved: 11 March 2013 Due to commence build!!!! Re: First Build - Madora Bay - White set almost complete 188Oct 21, 2013 11:24 pm Nice light Engle! Sorry I don't have any idea about UK - OZ conversions. I sent my plans to Darryl, fingers crossed it works out nice and cheap. I had some good news today, we have council building approval. Now we have to give info to bank before they will give us valuation on the house - not sure what the hold up is with NAB, but they are really annoying me now. It's taken nearly 4 weeks for them to get there s#it together. Once house is finished I am swapping all my banking to another company! Re: First Build - Madora Bay - White set almost complete 189Oct 21, 2013 11:36 pm I can't say I'm 100% sure they'll be ok, but I believe so. As far as I'm aware the UK uses the same voltage and frequency as us. If you can, message the seller before purchase and confirm that they are designed to run on 230v 50hz My build: viewtopic.php?t=62001 My Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62001 Re: First Build - Madora Bay - White set almost complete 190Oct 23, 2013 10:55 pm Bought these pendant lights today - stoked Mullet / Leanne - does anyone know whether we are at lock up yet?
