What colour is it? thanks onewheel, it's dulux grid. suh I did have a red splashback in our bar but I've just changed it to blue. I'm afraid I'm not a fan of red I don't like red anything, clothes, undies, nothing but I appreciate that other people do like it and I always like their results. thanks suh, i think i remember coming across your red one in my searches over the years! i really hope the splashback looks good. Onewheel How's your build coming along EmRuss? I saw your builders there this morning. Are you still on track for handover next week? hi onewheel, ive been a bit busy this week and trying to get my head around the final stages of this build. it's still going smoothly but no we wont be having handover this week. we received our final invoice on friday and our PCI will be this friday. i think it's just the shower screens and mirrors that have held us up (apparently the fancy easy clean glass i decided to get takes longer to get in so they wont be intalled till thursday), as far as i know everything else happened as planned last week. unfortunately, because we were under the impression that handover would be this friday, we've already given notice on our rental and have booked all our trades in to start from next saturday. the builder said he thinks we can come to some arrangement so that we dont have to cancel and try to rebook everyone. so that's one problem hopefully taken care of. that just leaves the bank. our bank has been great so far but according to our mortgage broker they require an occupation certificate, but in order to get our occupation certificate we need our driveway done (which is supposed to be done after handover). we've only made a decision today about a concreter, just waiting for him to give us a call back. we've got a small window the driveway can be done in so we're crossing everything that he's got the same availability. some more pics from last week powder room Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ kitchen tap and sink Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ main bathroom Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ shower Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ bath Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ ensuite Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ toilet Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ so i think the main things we've got left are the shower screens, mirrors and wardrobe doors (being installed on thursday), a skytube in upstairs living and watertank. also a tile needs to be replaced in the ensuite because the carpenters didnt cut a hole for a powerpoint in the gyprock so the tiler tiled over it, then the electrican tried to cut a hole and cracked the tile. the concreters who have quoted for the driveway have asked for the builder to dig up the concrete mess (presumably from cleaning the mixer after the slab was poured) which will be done next tuesday or wednesday and ends need to be put on the gutters. Oh no, what a drama! Can you get an interim occupancy certificate? What does everyone else do who do the driveway after handover? Do you have some time up your sleeve with your rental? Maybe you could extend it a week if they have not already re leased it? Or if you have to leave, will the builder let you store some things in the new house before handover? Hope you can get everything done this week and it stops raining! Our driveway is due to start form work on Tuesday, subject to the weather. We are hoping for PCI at the end of the week too! We started almost the same time now finishing almost the same too! Good luck for this week!!:) Edit:,Oops, just realised I quoted everything, so I've just remedied that for easier reading We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! OMG what a relief. i think we do have some time up our sleeve with the rental as far as i know they havent shown anyone through it yet though. they were supposed to have an open house on saturday but the agent called us in the afternoon to apologise as he'd gotten a flat tyre - i thought only tradies building houses got flat tyres Oh my gosh i need to catch up on your thread!! is your PCI booked in? we'll be there at 10am on friday. if i remember correctly we went to council within a day of each other so would be great if we finished at the same time! the builder rang this morning and reminded me we're still waiting for the splashback to go in (and the invoice for it), not sure how i forgot about that!! Hopefully if you need to you can delay moving and rent a bit longer. Our PCI is not booked in, but told possibly the end of this week, depending on how they go with the driveway, external plumbing, a few other jobs and the weather. We have a crazily busy week ahead. I think you will have PCI and handover before me, but you never know, we may have handover near the same together as we were at the beginning, a bit of a fluke. We'll have to officially "meet" in person and check out each others houses. After looking at your pics, would love to see the end result. Your house is looking fabulous! If there are no major problems, handover will be around 19th March. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! The place looks great and the only things that need to be done/fixed we already knew about. The site fence was taken down on Wednesday and the rubbish was removed today. All he's got left to do is Water tank Gutter guy needs to put 2 ends on our gutters Paint touch ups Brickie to do the sill under the alfresco doors The electrician has still got a few things to do and fix - somehow forgot about a powerpoint for the hot water system. We're having our appliances delivered on the monday after we move in so trying to get the electrician to come out on the Tuesday to install them and our extra pendants, external lights and a few plate things for DF. When I spoke to the builder yesterday he said the shower screen people had been but couldn't do the ensuite mirror until the broken tile had been replaced. When we got there this morning the tile had been replaced and the mirror was up The splashback was installed while we were there and also the automatic garage door thingo. I only managed one quick photo of the kitchen http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc405/emmcoy/491C4DE1-F9F9-4590-AE69-616088FFBD78-8819-0000052EA4535965_zpsb25affe5.jpg but we've got ourselves a construction key so that our trades can start going in from tomorrow. Someone from the bank tried to call the builder yesterday but their phone was off when he tried to call them back. Maybe they only did a drive by valuation (apparently the builder has that done before). They got the final invoice and our authority to pay on Tuesday and say they will arrange a valuation within 4 days. So tomorrow we've got the alarm and ducted vacuum guy going in. Tuesday ducted air con, Wednesday floor sanded, Thursday floor polished and Friday carpet. Hopefully payment will also be made on one of those days. Then the following Saturday we'll be packing up the truck DF is borrowing from work and moving on Sunday!!!
