My wife does not want any light entering room, and we are looking at block out roller blinds. She says she has to get the honey comb ones to minimise the gap. But I want to motorise them and they don't do electric versions. can motorisaed roller blinds add more gap or less gap than chain drive? Is she being overly worried? I think we have about 15mm gap around the sides of the roller blinds, due to thickness of the mounting hardware and gearing. But that is usually covered by the window frame, so should not be a problem. For full block-out, you'd need something like Luxaflex's Duette Architella or for a softer look, Luminette; both can be motorised, with the Luminette being both privacy and block-out (which is what we use in our bedroom).
