They also forgot some kitchen stuff. Numbers I have Base price with elite facade 411 Ryde loading and access surcharge 20 Storm water 15 Site costs (our slope) 25 Electric upgrade 15 Floor upgrade 6 Platinum package 20 Render/facade/door upgrades 25 Garage door 11 Staircase and adjoining window 33 Alfresco 13 Kitchen upgrades 37 Bathrooms upgrade 11 Joinery to master wardrobe, wine cup, etc 19 Fireplace and alcove 15 Total 676 Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 116Oct 24, 2012 8:40 pm manven So its 416K for base price + all other inclusions come to 700K inclluding landscaping. I was thiking rawson's price includes landscaping. We were looking at 3 lands they cost 700K, 800K and 850K and it looks like we cant we get a decent quality home for 1.2 budget (including everything like landscaping etc) ? May be single level only ? Is rawson's cost better than other builders? I also dont want to compromise on quality May be we have to rethink and just buy a cheaper land ? You should be able to get something really good for $550-600k including landscaping. The specs of the edge are very high thus so expensive. I don't think it makes sense to put a $700k house on $500k land as it will be overcapitalising. Better to put a $500k house on $700k land. So are you building this house freewill? how much are your land costs? 1 mil ? Yea what you said make sense that is pay more for land. Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 118Oct 24, 2012 9:49 pm Jen1977 Bigted, I have queried all costs that we have been given. A few of them have been changed. I was charged $300 for a cut out, reminded them it was part of the suppliers bonus so it was free, this was reversed. Another one was cavity sliding doors, already charged for normal door, but changed it to two cavity sliders, charged $750 - argued and said I would only pay $100 as we were taking out a door somewhere else, that was changed too. I also provided my own bush fire report, no credit for this - you will have to let me know if you get a credit and how much. We were having this conversation in tarshas thread, my main gripe with rawson, consistency of pricing. I have advised Simone before I work for a building company, I know how much these things cost, do I will question everything. I have two more variations To come back, hopefully tomorrow Hello all, we are just about to finalize our externals (hopefully). Never thought sorting externals gonna be this stressful. speaking of costs ,has anyone upgraded the ceiling height and what was the cost given please? Yea what you said make sense that is pay more for land. Manven We are getting quotes at the moment before deciding on a builder. The Edge is one of the houses we like but given the upgrade costs will probably be too much for our budget unless Rawson provide decent discounts. We have an old fibro house on our land which we will knock down - the actual house is almost worthless. The land value is probably is around $1m. You won't have to guess now whether you are reading a male or female perspective! Call from Council on Friday to say DA had been approved, pending some 'fire rating issues'. Should be all sorted out & ready to go when our land settles (finally!) on 6-November. We also have a new CSO - Rachel. No contact from her as yet as I missed the call when she rang to introduce herself. I'll be very happy when we get handed over to a site supervisor - hopefully one with experience, not a newbie! Building Stroud 30 in Lake Macquarie Just started the Build process for Chifley 42 with Rawson homes, will keep you all posted with the Build progress. 0 2416 Ask for references and speak to them.
