I have a quality roller and im using dulux paint, when applying it looks fine when its wet yet when it dries i get those issues. I'm thinking of giving it one more coat but worried the same thing will happen! is black the hadest colour to get right ? When your rolling the wall, start at the window side and roll away from it, this will help hide the roller marks. I can't stress enough to make sure you have enough paint on your roller as well, moving quickly to keep your working edges wet. If the paint starts to dry out in between rolling and you try to lay it off, you're stuffed. Get the paint on, lay it off and move onto the next section as quick as you can. Re: black feature walls.... 6Jun 01, 2012 4:45 pm we have a similar issue with our RED wall we painted one of the feature walls beige and it looks great no roller marks and one of the feature walls is Red and the roller marks are very much visible. I think the darker the paint the harder it is..... My hubby is gonna give the wall another couple of coats hopefully it'll get better (fingers crossed) Re: black feature walls.... 7Jun 02, 2012 4:03 am Hi Yes you have made life hard but it can be done What you are propably seeing is un even roller application and that is probably on the wall that you get undiffused light on If you roll down to apply your paint then cross hatch at 45% and then roll up I think you will find it will be OK We sometimes have the same issues with dark colours on high rise buildings when the client has specified dark colours Best regards Peter Hayes E:peter@peterhayes.com.au The warning is on the sticker on the door too.
