I'm wondering about the solidity of project homes, and how you ensure your new home isn't "creaky" whn it's finished or not that long afterwards. I know things are bound to settle as the age, of course, but a friend is renting a house in/near Olympic Park (Limpix being late 2000 means this house wouldn't be over about 10 years of age) and it's moderately typical of modern houses in that you can pretty much tell where someone is upstairs because you can pinpoint where they are from the squeaks as they walk.
I could of course ask "how to avoid this" of a builder, but if I were them I'd just answer that it was only the low quality builders that build houses like that (ie. "not us").
What is the go?
Can you pay extra for extra solidity - I dunno, wall & floor frames closer together or something?
