Even if you get the builder to clean outside it still wouldn't be up to standard and you will end up cleaning it "properly" yourself. A bank is a place that will lend you money only if you can prove that you don't need it... Re: Henley's house&land package*Bricks partially completed* 47Sep 16, 2012 7:05 pm Agree with Buttercup, the cleaning is not to a high standard. You will need to do it again yourself. Be carefull with the windows check for scratches before you clean them. Re: Henley's house&land package*Bricks & cornices completed* 49Sep 24, 2012 7:23 pm went for a visit on our site yesterday and our bricks have been completed as well as the cornices. all our doors were delivered and should be installed this week. Re: Henley's house&land package*Bricks & cornices completed* 51Oct 01, 2012 8:29 am received our lock up and fixing stage invoice a few days ago, so we're now approaching our completion stage went to our site last weekend and our bricks have been cleaned and they looked so much better! I'm just a bit surprised as they haven't rendered the front yet also noticed that the architraves and skirtings have been installed, all doors were hung, cupboards (kitchen, bathroom and ensuite)and cabinets were done. Our kitchen benchtop is caesarstone and this has not been installed but I was surprised with our bathroom and ensuite benchtops as they were supposed to be in diamondgloss finish, but they don't look glossy at all I'm not too sure if it's just temporary(???) and then they'll just fix them later on. I'll just send an email to my SS and enquire. tengals nice one, i'd love to see pics thanks. I've been a slack lately and haven't updated my blog but will do shortly. how's your build going by the way? Re: Henley's house&land package*Completion stage* 53Oct 10, 2012 7:48 pm just wanted to ask, what exactly happens during PCI?Who are present during PCI? We will book an independent inspector before our handover so if we do this, do I get my inspector to conduct the inspection before PCI?? Or this needed to be done on the the actual PCI date? Are PCI and pre-handover the same thing? I'm really embarrased to be honest, I did google but I think my brain isn't functioning too well so I couldn't really understand thus I'm even more confused... And thanks in advance to those who will respond. Re: Henley's H&L pckage*PCI&pre-handover,whats the differenc 54Oct 11, 2012 12:35 am They're the same thing, Henley don't call it PCI, they call it New Home Presentation. Someone from the handover department called "handover Inspector" will present the house and note all defects s/he can see as well as your own "not happy" items if s/he agrees with it. If possible have your own inspector there at the same time, he will save you a hell lot of headache and he can sort the handover guys out. Trust me, the so-called handover inspectors from the builder are trained to be d#@kheads. If for some reason you can't get the private inspector to come in at the same day/time, you can still do it after the New Home Presentation but make sure you add a clause to the defect list like "plus defects listed by the (name of the company) Inspection" before you sign it, If s/he say no, so should you, don't let them bully you into signing it without that clause. They have 2 weeks to fix the defects and will call you to have another inspection before getting the keys. Tip: Take your time when doing inspection and be very very fussy. Re: Henley's H&L pckage*PCI&pre-handover,whats the differenc 56Oct 18, 2012 8:50 pm Hubby and I went to our site last weekend and unfortunately, our house was locked so I was unable to take pics from the inside On the other hand, i got a call from my supervisor today, advising me that electricals were done & driveway has been completed so wood flooring and carpets will be installed next week... I can't wait to pass by our house this weekend though I'm pretty sure, it will still be locked so I won't be able get in again, but that's fine for now..
by the way just wanted to share this pic that I took LAST WEEKEND showing our facade. I'm still being lazy so up to now, my blog hasn't been updated yet! anyway, here it is...
