I think I'm gonna need a massage next week! He..he... Gogo, my blinds, security doors & fly screen should be ready in 1-2 weeks, but shutters around early Dec. Re: Journey of Building a Wisdom home (Boston 50.7sq) 790Oct 22, 2012 3:56 pm Thank you, nina & mtjiputra!! Yes, we are happy to move in. Not keen on unpacking..lol... Just an update, yesterday night our powder room pipe blocked & smell really2 bad, I think I can see poo stuck ... Then I texted my SS on Sunday night to call plumber asap, he responded & tried to contact the plumber who came today to fix it. Thank you to my SS who came & watched the plumber fixing it , it took like 3-4 hrs I think... Maybe there's a cement blockage...?? Not sure... We also still have 1 toilet with very noisy sound, microwave trim kit & A/C to be installed, electrician to replace bulbs, intercom & wall plate cover. But nothing major, just a creaking floor board slightly that we can feel & hear at night time. But that will be on the maintenance list according to SS. Overall, everything works well. We have a good sleep so far, no nightmares, he..he...I love the insulation mostly, how the house is warm when outside is cold & windy like today. Trying to focus at work today since I've been away for 3 weeks leave... Re: Journey of Building a Wisdom home (Boston 50.7sq) 791Oct 22, 2012 6:59 pm Oh dear, loo blocking not a good start, but great to hear W got onto it straight away. Glad to hear you are enjoying your new home, I am sure there will be little things that may need fixing as you start to use them, hopefully there are not many. Make sure you use eveything a couple of times so you know what you need attending to for maintenance. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! We used to live in a meriton apartment and the builders had dropped bits of cement down the laundry drain as they were building so that when we had really hard rain it couldnt cope and sewage backed up the pipe into our laundry.....we had full sewage floods twice whilst we lived there (they had to replace the carpet twice) not nice at all and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through it. So it is brilliant they are on to it so quickly and that the issues happened now and not 12 months later. Re your squeaking floorboards, I'm interested to know what they can do about this? We have a squeaky landing which is really annoying, but since the carpet is already laid I didn't think there would be anything they can do about this now? Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43846 Re: Journey of Building a Wisdom home (Boston 50.7sq) 793Oct 24, 2012 11:15 pm Thanks for the tips, onewheel. The only appliances I haven't used is the dishwasher. This is my 1st time own it, so I don't know how to use it, he..he.. Might need to read the instruction first. Our blocking pipe is now fine & doesn't smelly anymore. But another problem appeared which is the noisy sound from the Stylus toilet. SS came yesterday trying to fix it but it actually got worse. So he gave me number to call tomorrow because it's a product faulty. He also stopped by this morning to let me know that he called Reece plumbing as well. Nina, Yes, the creaking floorboard starts to annoy me... I don't know how they will fix it. I had the same problem at the old house, then the maintenance guy came to take the carpet off & staples the floor board more dense. But ut doesn't really help.... So I'm not that happy knowing we have the same problem in the new house..... Hi nina, I found this thread, might help us, although don't really understand some of the words... viewtopic.php?f=7&t=31519&p=439350&hilit=Creaking+floorboard#p439350 Re: Journey of Building a Wisdom home (Boston 50.7sq) 795Oct 26, 2012 12:28 pm Just an update, we are slowly settling in to our new home. Friends have been visited us last week, and they are absolutely stunned by how beautiful the finishing are... And we're happy too with the bathrooms finishing, Linen handles, room spaces, but looks like I still need bigger WIR & kitchen... or maybe our clothes & kitchen stuff are toooo much... Sadly, our original SS has left the company. We still have few things to follow up though. Wsdm has been great and quickly follow up our complaint & report regarding the noisy toilet, carpet etc. Will update you with the result and outcome soon. Back to work now.... Re: Journey of Building a Wisdom home (Boston 50.7sq) 796Oct 26, 2012 8:45 pm That's great news Willcres Good to hear nice feedback from your friends too. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Thank you, Onewheel. Now the test has begun whether this house will be sturdy & waterproof during our 3 months maintenance... Re: Journey of Building a Wisdom home (Boston 50.7sq) 798Oct 30, 2012 11:06 am We have been enjoying the new house for the last 1.5 weeks. There are still few things that needs to be followed up & we feel a bit "lost" since our SS was no longer work for Wsdm. We're not sure who to contact & who'll follow up. But the construction manager has assured us & will look after our issues. And today quite happy because we finally got our phone line connected but Telstra made mistake & gave us new phone number instead of bringing our old ph no. So Telstra will fix it in a few days. Another thing, got a phone call from MH, the maintenance contact from Wsdm, about our creaking floor, so I feel very relief that Wsdm will handle .... & the carpenter rang me not long after that. So hopefully it'll get fix tomorrow. Yay!! Like I don't have enough to follow up, I found today a chip on the corner of underbenchtop kitchen door, emailed our kitchen contact & SS, got response straightaway & will be followed up. Thank you, W, I really hope we won't have much to rectify during this 3 months maintenance. Re: Journey of Building a Wisdom home (Boston 50.7sq) 799Oct 30, 2012 7:26 pm Good old Telstra, I haven't heard of one person so far who had no problems reconnecting. The joys of moving I guess Pleased to hear you are enjoying your new home. Great to hear W are handling your issues especially now your SS is now longer with them. What's next on the to do list? Landscaping? We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Lucky I only waited less than 2 weeks to get the home phone. Next to do is our downlights, we have 60 of them....then our fence, then shutters which will be installed early Dec. Landscaper hasn't contacted me again. So I'll need to remind him & probably loking for 1-2 more quotes. the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6736 Hi, guys!
