Thanks, Recently I used electrician which is very good and pretty cheap top bloke. Ray 0420649824 His prices were 1) $10 for down light if point is already there 2) $20 for new downlight 3) $50 for fan if nogging/connection is already there 4) chandeliers $25 if point is already there. I keep listening out for the weather forecast and it says it will be clear until next Thursday when rain is predicted. Just hope it all dries out by them and we have some piers, but feeling very negative about this. The SS saw our block last Friday and the concreter thought it was still too wet for the excavator to on. We had a look on Sunday and there were only a few wet spots. Of course on Tuesday when the SS went out again it was pouring down rain. Can't believe what a rollercoaster ride building is. Quote: Going down on the weekend to possibly put our $750 down. Out tender requirements list feels huge... Rain go away!! Hopefully your block dries up soon as this is starting to get ridiculous. Unfortunately weather is out of the control of EBH. I am sure that you are not the only ones that are in this predicament. Fingers crossed that we get a dry spell of weather. Trust me, it is better to wait until the ground has dried up. Our neighbours builder sent in contractors to dump blue metal on their block ready for their slab at the end of Feb this year. It had been raining for weeks and the ground was all wet so ofcourse the truck had no traction and long storey short, it tipped over (noone was hurt luckily), knocking down our site fence, which then landed on our house, damaging our gutters. Not to mention the load of blue metal that was dumped on our front yard. Their block was also a massive mess as they had to bring in a crane to upright the truck. They had mud piles and tyre tracks that had cut so deep into their block that it took their builder at least another couple of weeks to get level again. sohnaeo Recently I used electrician which is very good and pretty cheap top bloke. Glad you replied as we will need to bring in an electrician to do a few things for us in the next couple of months (provided the landscaping gets done!). What a big mess! luckily no one was hurt. I know it is out of EB hands just hope our SS is visiting our block regularly to catch that window of opportunity. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 6390Jul 12, 2013 9:16 am Our landscaper is hard at work today... The front looks a mess, but I can see where the front retaining wall will go now... That's purely for aesthetic appeal... A hedge will go on top giving us privacy, and they have dug for the side retaining wall. Hope they get heaps done today and tomorrow as it is due to rain heavily again Monday. The concreters are probably keen to get started as well as no slab means no pay. 1sttimebuilding2012 Our landscaper is hard at work today... Sounds like your landscaping is well on its way to getting done. We have our front retaining walls and the front porch tiled, but apart from that nothing....Our security doors are going in this arvo so that is one more thing that I can tick off my to do list Slab – 31 Oct 2012 Frame - 15 Nov 2012 Bricks – 26 Nov 2012 Roof - 14 Jan 2013 Lock Up- 11 Feb 2013 PCI- 23rd May 2013 Settlement - 7th June 2013 Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 6393Jul 12, 2013 10:49 am Need2know Hi There can some one please advise if the wall insulation covers all the walls (internal walls with partitions) or just the main walls with the bricks. It covers all the outside walls (between gyprock and bricks). None of our internal walls have insulation between them. I understand the price varies with every house. Do you mind let me know how much are you paying for the landscaping. Nice if you can share your plan. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 6396Jul 12, 2013 11:06 am Need2know Thanks BH. Do you think it is worth paying extra for them to have insulation between internal walls? One of my friend (building with Clarendon) is doing that. Your friend must be having acoustic insulation (noise) insulation internally , I can't see any benefit of having the thermal insulation internal walls. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 6398Jul 12, 2013 11:13 am Need2know Sohnaeo, its not the noise reduction insulation. Its the normal insulation. I am using the noise reduction insulation in my media room, so I know about it. I can't see the benefit either of getting normal insulation between walls if they are not to going to block out sounds. That would be the only reason why I would have gotten internal insulation (not that I did). Sorry to be bit rude I might be wrong but in my opinion you wouldn't get any benefit by having insulation between internal walls I built with EB back on 2009.
