I would probably put a cavity slider on the WIR as well, just to make things a little less congested near the door way. I think it would work quite well as it would allow you to enlarge your shower if you wanted (depending on the sixe) and move the toilet slightly away from the wall. I know that it sounds weird but I found looking at the display homes that sometimes the toilet was right against the wall and you felt a little trapped by the wall, even though there was plenty of space to not have it pushed right against the wall. That's what I did - I specified how far from the wall I wanted the toilet and it feels very comfortable (not cramped) and there is still plenty of wall space. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 5167May 26, 2013 11:32 am I agree with your Dearheart, now that I am in my house. The ensuite toilet is close to the wall... There are no problems with comfort, but it could have come away for the wall a bit. Things I would change if I built the Hawthorne 31 again... The ensuite and WIR. I find the WIR is not big enough and the ensuite has too much room. I would rearrange this... Having said this, it is nice having the space with two people getting ready in the morning. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 5168May 26, 2013 12:01 pm HunterSheffield25 I had my first colour appointment today and thought I'd share the colours in case they help someone out. Only did minor upgrades-pot drawers in kitchen, plinth ($220-is that the going rate??? Seemed excessive to me, underbench microwave space and drawer. We will add floating shelves ourselves after handover. Have a good weekend Love the colours Looks really great. Are you doing Caesar Waterfalls x 3 in your kitchen? If so what was your cost? I asked Kitchen Culture a while ago prices to upgrade from standard to crystal chalk or salt and it was $1100 per waterfall edge, and $750 for the upgraded tops x 2 which ended up being $4000+, went to masters yesterday to price up Caesarstone in Snow and for our whole kitchen it was $8,000 i nearly died. So very interested to hear what you have done. This kitchen is stressing me out. Also to any other Sheffield 25 owners who are upgrading their doors to a bigger door, like the Display at Spring Farm for those who have been. Did you have any issues with the door in terms of it not fitting, basically did our tender, they did 2 doors which we never had, we requested the door exactly as per display, made the variations, signed off on what we changed, we added the correct door on our variations, and now come our contract, after reviewing the tender they decided due to our hallway near the kitchen that we can't have the door we want and are still charging us $1200 WTF!!! They never mentioned this to us by the way, so now both bf and i are seeing red over it!! Any advice for a firstimer??? Thanks Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 5169May 26, 2013 2:19 pm We changed our door to a 920 door so can't help you there. Ohmistershefield changed there's to a 1200 door I think and as a result had to change their main bedroom size. This whole space is frustrating. DH wants it like this. I've already had a lot of say in other things I can live with it I think. Worst case if we have mould issues we can close up the doorway to wir and open one up from bedroom We looked at bricks today. Geez that's one heck of a confusing decision. Anyone choose mocha from standard range? Or any other brick in similar tone? I'd love to see pics Eden Brae Drysdale 27 | The Blog Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 5173May 26, 2013 9:51 pm They use Taubmans endure... I went to Bunnings and looked at the range there... We choose pebble bay for walls and pebble bay quarter strength for our skirtings and architraves. Standard is one colour throughout the house. If you pick a neutral colour, I pretty certain that it will be in the standard range. It's just darker colours which may need a few coats. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 5176May 27, 2013 8:42 am Hi all For those that increased your ceiling height, any ideas as to how much extra the doors were to have the larger door? And also the extra tiling in bathrooms? We are going back and forth on increasing the ceiling height...we want to but it's quite pricey... Building a Drysdale 27 with Eden Brae! Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 5177May 27, 2013 9:14 am JohnLou Yay. We went out to our block today and there was a slab. Surprising considering it rained last week. Wasn't expecting them to pour on Saturday. Congrats on getting slabbed! Its very exciting to watch your house go up right before your eyes! Renski Anyone choose mocha from standard range? Or any other brick in similar tone? I'd love to see pics Are you able to visit PGH and ask them if they have a list of houses that have been built using the mocha bricks? I remember they gave me a list with all the houses that had been built with Vino bricks when we were deciding between Vino and chocolato. Dearheart But not white. Its probably better to go to the home option gallery and ask them. I went through the Taubmanns range and chose some colours - most of them were not in the range. Interesting as white is standard colour for our ceilings so not sure why it is not a standard colour for walls?? We just got sent our IOC. We are having higher ceilings but left our internal doors as standard size. We only upgrade the front door. Also re the bathroom, Eden Brae do not tile all the walls. Only the shower and bath and vanity surround. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 5179May 27, 2013 10:04 am We increased the ceilings overall and extra high at the entry. The extra tall doors were included for our master bedroom as a result of increasing the entry height. We upgraded our front door as display home, and left all other doors as standard. We tiled just the shower walls to ceiling in bathroom and ensuite. It was $255 extra in one room, and $263 extra in another room.
