Bearer needed to be replaced 2. Painting the house 3. Carpet laying 4. Lounge-1 and 2 Timber flooring. They have carpet now. under the carpet it's pine wood. what is the best Timber flooring. if i get the sanding and polishing on this pine wood, will they look good? Pl suggest me 5. Kitchen bench top replacement. Will you suggest me who will fix bearer and how to get quotes from them. I'm just interested to know as if it's termite damage you may have to solve that problem as it may still be ongoing. I had a bearer replaced on my house which was the result of termite damage. I used a reblocker/restumper as to replace it you need to jack up the house from under the joists which only a reblocker generally has the equipment for. Just look up restumping/reblocking for your local area - it may take a few calls to find someone willing to take on a smaller job. The cost for me was about $1300 which also included a section of flooring which was eaten by termites. Done right there shouldn't be any cracking to the plaster inside as they only need to jack up the house very slightly. Seconded; we just used these last weekend to build a small deck.
