Re: Baldivis Build: wardrobe fitout and dilemma 616Aug 06, 2012 11:10 am Love your letterbox/planter. We also had one done slightly smaller and just one straight planter. I really like the offset second planter box. And a great price. i think ours was around $750 so you got a good deal. Its soo good to see something unique. $450 was a great price, especially when you can easily spend $200+ on something normal. Ive been looking at letterboxes so much lately, that I can walk down our street and name the store that a person brought their box from :/ Re: Baldivis Build: wardrobe fitout and dilemma 618Aug 08, 2012 10:02 pm Dream House 82 Hi! Congrats on moving in. In the draw with your spices etc, are the compartments custom made or did you buy them from a shop somewhere? Thanks! I think I got them from Howards Storage. Definitely not custom made!!! Sorry for late reply! Re: Baldivis Build: wardrobe fitout and dilemma 619Aug 08, 2012 10:17 pm enelya Oooh the planter is awesome!!! Are you painting it the same colour as the house? Yes we will be painting them the same colour as the house...just waiting for it to dry and then we will do the waterproofer on the inside and then paint the outside. We are so happy with our letterbox! It is different to everyone else's! Yes, you wouldn't be able to say where we got ours from! Except for the letterbox plate...but we got the number/street name on it from a sign writer and as our street name is very old english, we got it scripted and it looks fantastic! Cannot wait to have it all finished with paint and plants! Just don't know what plants! In the small end planter I want a cycad palm. In the middle I am thinking of maybe algaves? Maybe 2 cordylines and 2 algaves in between? We will have rainbow quartz in there too. At the front of the planters and letterbox I am going to have rainbow quartz too, and dwarf mondo grass. Not happy with our estate at all. Was told that the footpath would be in early last week, and then that due to the rain it would not go in until the rain clears up. I was talking today to a guy on site, and he said that the electrical cables will go through to the next development (right next to us) sometime in the next month or two (and expect the latter so you aren't disappointed!) and then the footpath can go through. So what was early last week about? We can't get the landscaping done until the footpath goes in! So I have these beautiful plants all sitting in pots My coffee plants aren't looking the best, so I will need to get them into big pots soon and just have to add the retic afterwards. So unimpressed. We were really lucky that the onsite guy spoke to our letterbox brickies when they were here to find out what they were doing as they have to get a loader onto our property to put in the cabling...so they made sure that the letterbox was far enough away to not be in the way! Would have been mighty peeved if it wasn't, as NOBODY had told us prior that the cables weren't in. We had seen the orange pipe through earlier, didn't realise it was just conduit and not actually the wires. Nice to be informed! Front render still to be painted. Not impressed. That is the fix up bit from May and also the repainting of the correct colour. Bath to be done still, that is wednesday next week, same day as the benchtop. I cannot even remember what else needs doing! Those who want the brickies number, will get that to you on the weekend. need to find his card...i love his card...it says "the fastest erections"....of course in erecting brickwork!!! I remember the quirky card, just not where i put it! He is dropping some more off to me if I can't find it anyway! On another note, we got our rates today. Ours were really really cheap! But we didn't get our tip passes, so suspected something amiss! Neighbours got their rates, with tip passes, and they are almost double our price! We are thinking that the council thinks our land is still just land, even though we have bins which the council collect weekly, we have all the other amenities and you would think since they approved the building licence they would know it was being built on and that we were in??! do we need to contact them to tell them we have moved in and we missed doing that? Re: Baldivis Build: developer is useless! 620Aug 08, 2012 10:30 pm Hahahahhaha. That is an epic win on the bricked part! I know a carpet layer who is "the best lay in the west" And then there is also cameltow towtruck that lives on orrong road!!! Sorry to hear your estate people are being do difficult! They should have all this stuff sorted before people move in! Sounds like footpath will be a while off then I hope the coffee plants make it! We bought one for less than a quarter of that price off eBay. It worked really well for us and it's still going now, five years later.
