Everyone, please, stay away from pet mills and farms! Cheers, Earl Re: Help with Cat Breeders 4Jul 24, 2011 12:42 pm Absolutely, she loves cats and is always on the look for stray cats to feed. I was actually looking for a breeder because we wanted an indoor cat & and a breed of cat that enjoys indoors & people etc =). At the moment I was looking at the 'Somali' cat, but can't decide yet, something really cute =), any suggestions? I should mention that I'm in Melbourne. Re: Help with Cat Breeders 5Jul 24, 2011 2:03 pm I found this website with a list of breeders for victoria. It might even be a good idea to attend a cat show and see what the cats look like. If you see a breed you are interested in you can ask the breeders some questions. They'll also be able to tell you if they have any litters coming up or just start contacting some breeders direct. And please consider sterilisation, there are too many unsterilised cats out there having unwanted litters already. Hope this helps http://www.cats.org.au/Breeders/breeders.html Re: Help with Cat Breeders 6Jul 24, 2011 7:46 pm We have just discovered our favorite cat breed EVER ... The Ragdoll Our little boy is now 8 months old and is just so entertaining . He follows me round , loves a cuddle and has super soft rabbit like fur . They are very much indoor cats as they are so trusting and not at all road savvy . They go all limp when picked up like a Ragdoll hence the name LOL We are looking for a 2nd one now and the breeder has told us they dont start breeding until Sept/Oct so there is a bit of a wait . Oh they come in all sorts of colour combos and having stunning blue eyes too We had only had British Shorthairs before and although they are also big teddybears the Ragdoll actually searches out company and wants to be around you while the BS was happy with their own company . Here is our baby Dobby Re: Help with Cat Breeders 8Jul 25, 2011 10:23 pm Picard OMG so cute, (I love cats). I have a question for you, do the ragdolls loose a lot of fur around the house etc? No they don't shed a lot at all , well our one doesn't anyway Pretty sure I read they were not big shedders . He did get REALLY fluffy when it started getting colder so I am assumming he will lose some of that when it warms up again. Of course he will still leave a few hairs on your clothes if he rubs up against you . They don't need a lot of special brushing either . Re: Help with Cat Breeders 10Jul 26, 2011 2:04 pm Or adopt an abandoned cat/kitten from the Cat Protection Society. They are not far away in Greensborough/Watsonia. Some people don't have time to do the job right the first time, but seem to have plenty of time to fix their mistakes. Build Thread Re: Help with Cat Breeders 11Jul 29, 2011 11:32 am Boo to breeders! There are lots of cats and kittens available for adoption at Ingrid's Haven in Broadford (45 mins from Mernda). Why not adopt a rescue instead? http://www.ingridshaven.net.au/ I discovered Ingrid's Haven in 2007. We finally adopted our first kitten last year at eight weeks old, he's now one. Gorgeous tabby with a fantastic temperament and lives very happily indoors (though we are hoping to build him a cat run outside at our soon-to-be-built new house). Honestly Ingrid is an amazing woman doing amazing work, check out the website and give her a call. You/your sister will not be disappointed! Please note not all kittens are shown online as they can come and go quite quick. Our boy below. (I couldn't pick just one pic!) We are going from a family with two (used to be three ) little dogs and a cat to one big empty house Little Miss is going to be so heartbroken, as she always wakes up to furball cuddles So I was thinking of getting a little cat - and funnily enough, a RAGDOLL! They are just so precious So if anyone knows anyone in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne that breeds ragdolls or knows where we could adopt one, please let me know Custom European Cabinets - Melbourne Kitchen Specialist PM for business details as website currently being updated! Our Crazy Owner Builder Journey! Re: Help with Cat Breeders 13Jul 30, 2011 10:51 am there are sometimes some offered on gumtree. Some to be rehoused not just kittens. Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7931 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12512 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7158 |
