Okay so that means we are 198 days in with 68 to go. I will be surprised if they are finished in time. - View my blog at www.waldorfgrangebuild.wordpress.com Re: Porter Davis homes 15528Oct 05, 2017 4:26 pm They better finish ours on time I can't handle anymore delays. The date for our finish according to the contract is 17th March. Our contract is 198 days. I do hope that we don't get delayed, but I also hope they don't rush they job just because they don't want to pay us $250 a week for going over contract. Our land settles Sep 2016 and we still didn’t have site start until March 2017. We had issues with developer approval and council landscaping plans which delayed things though. - View my blog at www.waldorfgrangebuild.wordpress.com Re: Porter Davis homes 15532Oct 06, 2017 7:29 am In week 15 now.. benchtops are in and pre paint works have began. Still quite happy with our SS and the progress. We noticed our fridge nib wall out of square and before we even mentioned it to our SS it's been marked and already getting fixed. Just wanted to ask a question relating to the Porter Davis build process & waterproofing. Our cabinets have been installed to our wet areas before the waterproofing has been done. Apparently this is not to Australian standards, but is a common practice with builders (not just P.D either). For all of you who have built with P.D, at what stage of your build was the waterproofing done, before or after cabinets were installed? I'm waiting to hear back from our S.S, but I'm trying to avoid having all the cabinets ripped out if possible. Thanks! This is to avoid the membrane from getting damage. Some builders usually get it done at the same time painting is done or just after fixing once cabinets are installed. Personally I prefer after painting, that way the membrane doesnt get damaged. Less traffic. Allow enough dry time, then tiling starts. Our building inspector had picked this issue up, so I'll wait and see what our S.S's response is.
