Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Porter Davis homes 15224Aug 08, 2017 4:44 pm nikil That was my thought exactly Hurrow. There is skip bins provided. Why on earth are they burying rubbish. they use the bin and dont physically stand their ,dig a hole and burry it lol i suppose when they buried our water line ( which was visable) once the house was done dirt gets thrown around and things end up under. Not to mention it was mainly tile pieces and unfortunately not all of that is going to end up in your bin. PD do a lazy job of a site clean, and dont expect a site scrape. Re: Porter Davis homes 15225Aug 08, 2017 4:55 pm From memory someone had mentioned it would cost $400 per feature wall for painting a different colour. We wanted to paint the whole house a light grey colour that wasn't a part of the 12 or so colours on offer and were told we would be charged for a feature wall for every wall in the whole house. - View my blog at www.waldorfgrangebuild.wordpress.com Re: Porter Davis homes 15226Aug 08, 2017 4:59 pm Does it not depend on the size of the wall? Definitely something I'm looking at doing post hand over before we move in as it will work out more cost effective for us. Re: Porter Davis homes 15227Aug 08, 2017 6:22 pm lizbf85 i actually thought those square set windows weren't meant to have the archs on. Finished more with a square set. I know our larger upgraded ones as big as this didnt have the architraves for that reason. You got your flooring done post handover didn't you? Did you get the skirts installed and painted after floors or before? Re: Porter Davis homes 15228Aug 09, 2017 9:42 am Thanks Naama! I hadn't checked on your blog in a while, great to see you are making good progress! How many square metres did your house end up at with all the additions, it doesn't actually look that much smaller than our Kew 28?? How many square metres did your house end up at with all the additions, it doesn't actually look that much smaller than our Kew 28?? it's a bit over 24 sqs. The Kew is 28 so it's about a room and a half smaller I think.. Re: Porter Davis homes 15230Aug 10, 2017 10:00 am Naama it's a bit over 24 sqs. The Kew is 28 so it's about a room and a half smaller I think.. I was looking at your design and thought that it has pretty much everything we have except a study, so that would make sense. Some of the other rooms may have different dimensions as well. House is finally in lock up after almost 2 months of delays due to many issues that Darbecca picked up (mould etc!) Wondering if our landscaping quote seems reasonable? Pool is already in so not included But 84K. See attached. Thanks! 800m2 block building PlazaB. We do have a huge retaining wall and pool fence included :/ Porter Davis homes 15238Aug 13, 2017 7:56 pm $84,000 seems crazy! I'd definitely be getting a few more quotes! Mind you we haven't had any quotes but I definitely wouldn't be expecting it to be that much and our block is 1015sqm Re: Porter Davis homes 15239Aug 13, 2017 11:35 pm We are in the process of having our tender finalised and have a question. Has anyone been charged directly by their water supplier (South East water etc) for the installation of their water meters/ taps to site? journeytotheplaza.wordpress.com Re: Porter Davis homes 15240Aug 14, 2017 9:15 am KushD Building permits issued, final construction drawings signed off..5 months since initial deposit.
