A wheelbarrow will be able to damage it let alone a bobcat Re: Porter Davis homes 14147Feb 02, 2017 11:17 pm Renman PieMan Ashik_09 Has anyone done Hebel in lieu of bricks? I think I'm almost as excited as you are to see your house Re: Porter Davis homes 14153Feb 03, 2017 5:42 pm lizbf85 I like it much better with just the poles, it does make it seem more open. Re: Porter Davis homes 14154Feb 03, 2017 5:46 pm nikil lizbf85 I like it much better with just the poles, it does make it seem more open. Thanks us too . We were originally told no to this but knew the bricks were just a feature and it wouldn't effect it structurley. Thanks to numerous errors we got what we wanted. We plan to deck the alfresco and bring it out a meter from the extension. Of course leveling the yard...god knows how much fill we are going to need. Re: Porter Davis homes 14155Feb 03, 2017 5:47 pm Well I bet you'll get it cheaper than if you got it through PD haha. They are changing us $5,000 for 75mm of fill.. Cant u do it urself afterwards? I dont even remember having that discussion we only really realised we'd need it when we saw how high the slab was.. we were also hoping they would level out the ground when they did the clean up but highly unlikely i suppose. Re: Porter Davis homes 14157Feb 03, 2017 6:17 pm Sorry I didn't mean for the back, we need an extra 75mm of fill under our slab and they added $5,000 for it. I'm thinking I might just ask them to take it from the back of the block!! We've got around 21metres at the back! Re: Porter Davis homes 14158Feb 07, 2017 10:11 am nikil Sorry I didn't mean for the back, we need an extra 75mm of fill under our slab and they added $5,000 for it. I'm thinking I might just ask them to take it from the back of the block!! We've got around 21metres at the back! ouch! i do recall the word ' fill' being used with our slab actually ... I'm pretty sure becasue our block had up to 300mm of fill ( after second soil) so we were upgraded to a more engineered slab..$$$$$$$ apparently fill isn't ideal for a slab and the thicker ground down below is where they need to get the footings..( and screw piles). Its's so crazy they are adding it to yours but removing from ours ... Given the house was there for maybe 60 years before us i guess this can happen. I am no engineer so i really have no clue how it all works. I also remember my husband contesting the soil reports and fill, and we were told that its standard for slabs to be the top class for any KDR....any that we have seen follow suit Re: Porter Davis homes 14159Feb 07, 2017 10:16 am Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Here she is.... Site is clear and fence is down.... look its as clear as its going to get I suppose. Everything is pretty much finished, just awaiting our PCI on Monday!! A few things like the vent relocation and my WIR but thats about it. Re: Porter Davis homes 14160Feb 07, 2017 10:52 am Looks great Liz!! We are also having screw piles and some other stuff, I'll take a pic of the tender and see if it compares to yours, of course all is pending a second soil test... our block should be cleared in 3 weeks then they will do the second soil test. They said there's a chance the costs may go down but I'm not holding my breath. The house on our block was also there a very long time it was actually ordered to be demolished because it was so old and crap. Wow that is terrible about the insurance! I guess ideally proof of insurance should be provided prior to first deposit but I'd imagine they would refuse to be out of… 17 14236 There isn't any need to.
