Sorry but I would prefer to read a book then waste brain cells on watching it.
I like seeing the end result - a bit like I watch Hot Property / Grand Designs only to see it finished or sold. But can do without the make-believe "drama" of it all.

I know they create all the drama, etc, but they do that on all reality shows. One thing, where can I find the stockists for some of the items they buy for their rooms?? I have searched and searched on their web page and can't find anything! I really want to know where Katrina and Amie got their "W" for their Laundry... Re: “The Block” 49Jul 21, 2011 12:57 pm Had to visit Ikea last Friday and decided to go for a drive past the Block houses, they are all finished and look great, front gardens etc all done, there seemed to be tradies still there, on the sisters house there a 2 verandah posts which were still unpainted and someone was inside still painting as there was a tray with rollers sitting in the side garden. We decided to park and go for a walk past them and as we approached Josh was standing out the front talking to some other people who were just there for a look, he is much better looking in person and was happily chatting to the people taking photo's etc, we stood across the road, my DD was too embarassed to go across the road. There are no "for Sale" signs out the front so dont know when they will go up for auction, I read somewhere that the couples finished and moved our on June 16. Hi Kara, Here is the list for their bathroom/laundry, although it doesn't say where they got the 'W' from. http://homes.ninemsn.com.au/img/thebloc ... /SL_KA.pdf I have seen industrial type letters in Freedom and Provincial Home Living. Being in Richmond, they may have got it from Coco Republic, Meizai (I have never been) or The Ugly Duckling (Burnley St). I also know they have bought a few items from 'Nook Vintage' in Fitzroy for their study, so they might have one too. Personally, I'd be trying Freedom first! EDIT: Oh, and to find everyone elses 'shopping lists', you need to click on 'supplier list' under the related links heading on their individual page for that particular room. Even if the other teams had seen the pillow, I doubt they would've stolen that idea from them I thought last night's episode was interesting with them all talking about their budgets and what they are willing to pay for in terms of tradies and what work they are doing themselves to save money. I wonder what Josh and Jenna are doing during the day cos their tradies bills seem to be massive compared to the others. I looked for ages and could only find the suppliers for the building, not the little things...Very handy from now on, thanks again:) I will have a search in Freedom and the other places you have mentioned...will have to do an online search as I'm in a regional area. I've seen the letters somewhere, so it may very well be Freedom as I visited there a few months ago when I was in Adelaide. Thanks again, Kara Re: “The Block” 53Jul 21, 2011 6:01 pm TwoFatKitties I really enjoy this show for the same reason as you Michelle. I enjoy looking at the floor plans and thinking about what I would do I totally love this show and my OH and I are going to audition for the next season! 2fk I really hope you get in - that would be great Re: “The Block” 54Jul 22, 2011 1:00 am My oldest son and I were going to apply. Two problems - 1. He's not 20, which is the bottom age limit; and 2. It's being filmed this October and he's doing his HSC. Maybe my best friend would do it with me? Judie Re: “The Block” 55Jul 22, 2011 6:30 am The more I watch the show, the more convinced I am I don’t need the stress in my life. So I won’t be applying for anything like this. BUT….I’d love to be a judge! Judie Do you know where the next session will be filmed? Re: “The Block” 59Jul 22, 2011 11:47 pm I've seen info that says 4 terraces in Dorcas Street, South Melbourne. Looks like this could be more of a restoration project than a renovation project. Each of the terraces still seems to have a lot of its period features, which are apparently in demand in that part of Melbourne. Interesting they're picking Melbourne again. Looks like property is quite a bit cheaper down there - the terraces were listed at $3M for all 4. Judie Re: “The Block” 60Jul 23, 2011 8:42 am I'm sooo over all the challenges, feels like a waste of time. My partner and I like to watch for the ideas and to see what we would do differently but I can't stand all the drama the show producers create. And what's with everyone complaining that they have no money and will be going home next week. When you look at the show website it tells you that they have around $70K left out of the $100K. I do have to stick up for the judges though. John was a business mentor of mine many (many!) years ago. He has been in the industry since he was 18 and although his agency doesn't have branches in Victoria, he does operate in many other states and has sat on the board of realestate.com.au as the chairman for many years. And if the editor of Belle magazine doesn't know what is hot and what is not then it wouldn't be one of the better selling magazines around. No matter who they pick they are always going to be wrong in someone's eye. At the end of the day, the winner will be decided by those bidding at the auction. But Melbourne water only wanted something the original size of the existing house. We managed to fit a 45sq house on. 10 33654 4 4430 |
