Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 524Jul 31, 2012 5:37 pm just when it was getting close to the building certificate being issued, sydney water have requested another engineer certificate for extra pier's due to the location of the sewer. My application is the first in stage 16, which seems strange as I see a slab poured in the next street which is my stage. Can't understand how they received their building cert without doing a sydney water quick check Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 525Jul 31, 2012 11:51 pm I noticed a police car up the very top of glenmore ridge drive today and the officers were chatting to a builder of a house currently being built... Id say theives are on the hunt for anything they can get, junkies! It will Be rather unlucky for all concerned if they choose my place, i dont know if they will enjoy a baseball bat to the legs but ill be keeping this info away from my wife, she would be freaked out if she knew, and its likely we will be living down in our little area alone for a while! Our slab is being poured friday morning and were on track with all trades sorted for lock up in 5 weeks... Check out our blog below! Those murphy homes being built in bluestone are going to be put up for sale/investment homes. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 528Aug 01, 2012 7:38 pm geeseman, I have been told by residents of old glenmore park that its not too hot, glenmore park stage 2 -some houses have a low antenna & others a high one. Could be the low antenna's are a higher range antenna. However the government is improving things in the west by added towers at kurrajong heights & razor back which should point in our direction , see article below ********************************************************************** Broadcasters have indicated that new digital TV transmitters will be established at this site. Digital services have not yet started. The new site will provide the full range of digital channels from your local commercial stations as well as the ABC and SBS. mySwitch will be updated to reflect information as it comes to hand although it is currently expected that this new site will commence in September 2012. To receive the new digital services from this site, after it commences, you may be required to make some modifications to your antenna (such as repointing, replacement and removal of any boosting devices) should you wish to receive services from the new site. mySwitch information will be updated to reflect information on the technical details of the site and commencement date as it is available. So basically I wouldn't be installing a antenna until the transmitter is operating as your antenna will be pointing in a different direction than they are now. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 529Aug 01, 2012 11:12 pm Hi Antenna we had ours installed and we get great service. Lots of channels and clear reception. We have a low mast. Not good about a second break in. It's a horrible feeling to know its happening. All we can hope is that the police up their patrols. We have not bothered with foxtel. The free to air is enough for us. Banksy great to hear things are progressing well for you. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 531Aug 02, 2012 9:33 am [quote="Lot927"]Hi Antenna we had ours installed and we get great service. Lots of channels and clear reception. We have a low mast. just to clarify "clear reception" digital is crystal clear or a black screen. Indication of good reception is no audio cutouts & no pixelation of the screen. From what I have read our side of glenmore park has a better reception than the older section of glenmore park , we are pretty luck in that respect. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 532Aug 02, 2012 10:41 am Hi 80057... welcome What stage are you at in the process? Hope you have a smooth run. Our street is very quiet today... the site beside me has been pegged so I wonder how long it will take before they begin. Its become a dumping ground. My 4 year old remarks every day on what is new.. yesterday is was a broken wheel barrow. The pile is just getting bigger and bigger. Those murphy homes are working 24hrs a day. Even late a night they are working by lights, they have put the homes together in a matter of weeks.... I wonder what the quality will be like though? Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 533Aug 02, 2012 10:55 am @80057, In the past I have seen a post here from another stage 11, a long time for your stage to finally register. Glad you can finally get things moving. @ cass, the murphy homes are certainly moving, brickwork was half up on monday, as posted earlier they are not contract homes. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 534Aug 02, 2012 2:46 pm thanks for the welcome, the delay was October 2011 to July 2012, so yes alittle frustating. I used to drive by to have a look everyother day, that turned into weeks apart then months as the delays got longer, it was a dampener on what is supposed to be an exciting process. after that with the 2m slope on the block the house we originally wanted couldnt be build, so its been a pain. we are at Plans stage with wisdom so far so good, abit worried about all the upgrades though, they are starting to add up and up and up.... there has been some dumping around and some hoons down bradley and glenmore ridge drive which isnt good. good to see the estate filling up. Though there looks like rentals and investors around. Some houses are going up like the wind! Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 536Aug 02, 2012 9:03 pm The quality conversation is one I had with my builder when we discussed speed of the work, but the important factor to consider is site down time? People often assume that things built quicker will be of poor or lower quality, but in actual fact if u use quality tradesman and then manage your timeline effectively, you most certainly can achieve quality at a decent pace I feel... Working at night, yeah maybe that's not the greatest idea but I guess only time will tell... We have been ready to go well before the approval which has resulted in many trades, costs and timelines being sorted well in advance, if weather holds we should be completed in a decent time frame, and with no trades on top of each other... Key will he minimal down time on site http://s1066.photobucket.com/albums/u40 ... hoto-1.jpg Slab pour tomorrow Check out our blog below! Piers done friday arvo, monday set out of levels, excavated slab, wednesday plumbing ground works and start of waffle pods, today they finished waffle pods and reo and its being poured tomorrow 6am Frame booked for monday, bricks end of the week, roof monday/tuesday week so we should be at lock up if all goes well inside 3 weeks... The builder we have doing this portion is the calmest person ive seen on a building site yet, solid man manager and people wanna work for him! Its great for me Check out our blog below! Thats if I ever get started, sydney water problem with sewer, they didn't like my alfresco being 4mts to the sewer connection point.
